Is Luka Modric the second best footballer in the world ?

Easily our best footballer in the past 3.5 seasons, absolutely vital in winning 2 CLs. The best is Messi by far, but the Croatian is a monstrous all round player. We often hear the term "complete player" thrown around mindlessly at the likes of CR 
who is several streets far away from being one. If there is one complete player in football that's Modric.
Only Neymar can make a case for being a better player

Ronaldo is the best. Don't think Modric is better than Messi tbh. Maybe top 5 though

You could make a case. He's definitely top 5. I have stated many times he's the best CM in the world by a mile.

He is the best midfielder in the world ATM.
Can't say he's the second best footballer in the world because comparing players of different positions is a slippery ground and because attackers are obviously better than the players of other roles.

Wouldn't call it a train that Chad is on. More like a deserted island.
Have there been any Modric doubters since the first 6 months of his first season? Was ridiculous even back then, once he got the chance he was always amazing.

All the way back to his days at Spurs. I can remember Mole has been critical of Modric for years except the last couple when it became clear he's class

What makes an attacker better than a midfielder ? We obviously exclude Messi because he's something else and by far the best player in the world. What makes the likes of Ronaldo and Suarez better than Modric ? Leaving aside his much superior techincal qualities, he's also more consistent on a game to game basis, while Ronaldo, Suarez (and Neymar while we are at it) are all hot and cold.

Messi and CR are the best two obviously, followed by Neymar Im pretty sure most would agree... anyway, more importantly agree that Modric has been absolutely brilliant for Real. Even since him and Kroos joined Real they have bossed the midfield, against any midfield in the world probably.
Xavi has left, and nowadays I cant stand how much better Real's midfield are better than ours
