Re: James Rodriguez transfer speculation
He has only had some 20 games so who really knows what his best is. He plays centre or right in the Roma's 4-2-3-1 right now. He is an actual midfielder though, not a forward, tall as well, so it seems like he should have no problems in a midfield 3.

If you mean financially, then no. If you go by Paratici's piece of paper, he's worth 40 now. If he keeps playing like this, he will be 60 in the summer and 100 the next summer.
Other than that, it feels a little early for him to be a starter for Juve, but that can also be just the way that we're used to things in Serie A

From what I've seen, somewhere in between. He's almost a 10, but he also likes to press, even if he tends to get clumsy with his tackles. Kid has energy, so far it's too early to say if he just likes to burn calories like all kids, if he tries to impress the coach or if that's just the way he is. Hopefully, the latter.

Of course he isn't out of reach financially. I meant because he just joined Roma and is only starting his career.
Roma will not want to sell him to us. He is only coming if he forces a move, and I don't think a 19yo, in his first season in A, will force out of a starter position in Roma to come to Juve.

Re: James Rodriguez transfer speculation
Zaniolo is hard to gauge as a player.
He plays like someone of a small stature of with a high centre of gravity but most end up shocked to find out he is 6'3 and a half.
When he is deep he seems completely at home there in his turn of pace, distribution and of course interceptions;
When he is advanced he rolls off the oppositions tackles as if he thrives in such positions and then drifts out wide as if it is within his natural inclination.
And then within the box he pounces on stray balls like a natural born striker.
Not to mention how he performs in the highest pressure situations, let alone AS Roma, a nightmare of a club to play in based on the hot and cold support and its politics.
Coaching him will be a complicated situation given within the next 2 years will determine on whether he is used as a tactical piece of allowed to bloom into the resounding talent he is.
Hoping to God he does not jump to Juve and more so stays within Roma.

Re: James Rodriguez transfer speculation
If it helps, I believe EDF sees him ultimately as a mezz'ala, though he's quite comfortable as a trequartista as well. Definitely not a striker or winger though.

Re: James Rodriguez transfer speculation
No no not implying that he ever should be but more so commenting on how he looks alarmingly comfortable in each quadrants of the pitch despite not being optimal.
Mezz'ala is easily his finest position given his penchant to make runs and that is where his finest moments are unlocked, whilst Trequartista would rather limit him unless he is used more as a spearhead in attack.
Huge huge asset for any coach to him and EDF is undoubtedly smart enough to grow his talent.

By the way, if you go anywhere near Zaniolo, Roma will ask you over 100 million. You have to wait for him to 1) run his contract down to a year 2) play so good that spending the money is a no brainer no matter how much it is

While I'd love for Juve to get him, I'm fine if he stays at Roma or in Italy. What I don't want is for him to leave Italy or go to Inter and the problem is Roma are a selling club and they will be until they finish their stadium, which, thank God, was approved this week. So, fuck them and all this "we don't sell to Juve" bullshit. Italian clubs are stupid, like when we bought Higuain, they all went and put clauses in contracts that could be triggered only by non-Italians clubs. Dumbest shit ever, like they thought they were competing with Juve.
EDIT Forgot to add that he's a Juventino, supposedly. Maybe that would help with this "not to Juve" crap.

Well, yeah, if you go right now, but he will have his regressing moments and 100 is a bit too much for a kid who was an unknown until his first start, which was only in November. At the same time, Brescia rejected a 29 mil offer for Tonali who only played in Serie B, so who knows.
Btw, he's tall, had some incredible plays and his name starts with Z, so you can guess with whom I've heard him compared, not once but in two places.
P.S. Roma offered him an extension, but only for 1.5 mil which his agent turned down. I don't know how you can then go and ask 100 for him if you value him that low.

Re: James Rodriguez transfer speculation
Nah he is not 100m. Roma got him for cheap in the summer, any big transfer out will be mostly profit. Roma isnt Napoli, they will sell to us fairly even if it's not their first choice. They aren't in a position to deny huge sums of money for their players, remember Salah, Alisson, Rudiger, Emerson, etc. going back to Vucinic, or Cassano if we'll go that far. Only reason why I dont think that it will be done is because he is Italian, and Roma fans care about that. He isnt Roman though, and he is/was a juventino (well documented in social media), so there is a chance that he forces a move, but not right now.
There is a lot of hype for Zaniolo but maybe 40m worth of hype up to now, moving forward it can change.

Living off a few hit n' hope goals from a World Cup (a now known cesspool of just lower tier Football).
One cannot expect much from a player who wasn't even that good in the first place as it is.
The whole Columbian hype train earlier this decade, finished as fast as it began.

Secco was right when he passed on him. He was an underrated genius that we let go too soon.
