Came from Ticket Master, apparently Meltzer has been told it's fake though.
I mean WWE would say it's fake but we won't take long for us to find out regardless.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 31
SD beats RAW in viewership in god knows how many years!!!!
This week’s WWE SmackDown, the loaded final show of 2016 with John Cena’s return plus WWE Champion AJ Styles vs. Baron Corbin vs. Dolph Ziggler in the main event, drew 2.885 million viewers. This is up from last week’s 2.637 million viewers.
SmackDown was #3 for the night on cable in viewership, behind college football on ESPN and Curse of Oak Island. SmackDown was #3 in the 18-49 demographic, behind college football and Curse of Oak Island.
In comparison, Monday’s RAW averaged 2.855 million viewers, down from last week’s 2.955 million viewers. It’s worth noting that SmackDown beat RAW in viewership this week.

What dilutes the value of the shows, for me, is not how much I'm paying for them, but for how many I'm paying for. Money means little to me considering that before the network I watched PPVs for free - as do thousands of people. My emotional investment in a PPV is the same regardless.
It's just that people aren't going to be hyped for PPVs when there are two every month. They feel more like extended episodes of RAW/Smackdown than special events. If someone loses in a PPV I don't care because I know a month later they'll get the win back.
Contrast that with the old days, where if someone lost a PPV match they'd have two or more months to wait before their rematch. Hence the matches felt more significant. Look at NXT's current model and how every Takeover feels spectacular.
The solution is really obvious. Just cut the number of PPVs. Have longer storylines so the writers have more freedom and time to write good stuff and compensate for any *bleep* ups. Because clearly a month isn't long enough for them to give good stories to more than a handful of their talent.

Jay I think his point is the company feel like they don't need to try as hard because they don't need to earn your money anymore.
No way of proving it but it does come across like that sometimes, I agree with you on shortening the PPVs BTW. Which if next year's schedule is any indication they are as the whole two PPVs a month thing isn't working how they initially hoped seemingly.

Anyway speaking of PPVs this is a poster for Elimination Chamber.
Obviously they'd need to add one more but a chamber match between those 5 would be great.

Elimination chamber a SD exclusive PPV?
My top 5 matches of 2016 (that i've seen):
1. Nakamura vs Zayn
2. AJ vs Cena (MITB)
3. Team Raw vs Team SD
4. Reigns vs AJ (Extreme Rules)
5. Miz vs Ziggler (No Mercy)

That one more is or should be Taker imo. I think that's the plan probably.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 31
I think the last time Smackdown was this good in terms of star power specifically not in terms of ratings was imo in 2002 when Vince was running the show and Flair was managing Raw on the other side.
That SD roster exclusively had Rock, Hogan, Triple H, Jericho, Angle, Edge and Vince himself. That was the time when I was always mostly looking forward to SD.
Right now you look at this SD roster and it's comfortably better than the Raw roster even in the Women's division. If Shane is actually the one running things around there, then he deserves massive credit.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 31
Shane is just a talent apparently, has no control creatively. Same with Foley.
From what I understand the lead writer is a guy called Ryan Ward who was lead writer of NXT before.
Don't know much about the creative team besides that, I agree it's the best Smackdown has been since Heyman was running creative though.
I do think they could do with a couple of more guys mind you, it's great now and it's not effecting TV yet but I could see it effecting TV eventually and getting stale if some of the next NXT call ups don't go to Smackdown.
I'm not going to worry about that while it's good though.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 31
Yh im specifically talking about now heading into Wrestlemania season. Just look at that Elimination Chamber poster and add Taker to it and you get a star studded main event which is certain to be a hit. Raw couldn't pull it off with their current roster. So glad Chamber is an SD exclusive ppv. Only fitting to have a Mania main event which involves SD guys considering how good the show's been over the last few months.
So there are already a couple of hints now that AJ will head into post Rumble as the champ. Will he drop it at the Chamber ?

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 31
Oh right.
On AJ i'm kind of expecting him to drop it the Rumble, but if he doesn't then the Chamber is a perfect excuse to get it on Cena without having Cena beat him.
The only reason you'd do that is if you went to tell a story where Cena breaks the record by beating AJ for the first time and failing on multiple occasions.
I doubt that happens though and fully expecting Cena to win at the Rumble.

Might be? he's advertised to be there
Meh though, unless Goldberg and Lesnar are both there i'm not that interested. I don't find Goldberg or Lesnar by themselves interesting enough to care by themselves.
I know the moment in the rumble when it all explodes will be great regardless.

Oh i'll watch it the next day, i mean it's not enough for me to watch RAW live.
They need interesting storylines for that to happen, well that and move on from this Reigns/Rollins shitting on Jericho/Owens crap which seems like it's been going on for ever and ever.
Not being funny but they kept the Ellsworth stuff more fresh

New show on the network, looks like Pardon the Interruption
Basically they just discuss a load of "controversial" topics, wonder what they mean by controversial mind.
Really interested to see what they say about Raw being 3 hours.
