There was never anything about her being black. They wanted a non anglo-saxon for the role, and the people stirring controversy hate black people, so they secretly wanted her to be black so they could be wrong.

Turns out they got a white minority (if Isabella Pappas is indeed cast).
From what I can tell she's Italian and she speaks Italian, English and Spanish.

Probably wanted someone who can stand out from the usual British actresses that often is in fantasy shows who all sound and look the same.

Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat comes out tomorrow. Anyone gonna be watching? Only four episodes.

It's a James Beard winning cookbook that apparently focuses less on recipes, more on these four elements of cooking and how to use them. It's been adapted for Netflix into what seems to be a travel/food show. She'll go to one different country for each (Japan, Italy, Mexico, USA) to learn each element.

I'm looking forward to it. I haven't bought the book yet...but I will eventually. Or request it as a Christmas gift.

I actually think Anna Shaffer looks close to identical to what I'd have imagined. Except for being 1/8th or quarter black. The first photo is too full of make up that hides her freckles.

Looking at Lars Mikkelsen's Character: Stregobor was a Kovirian wizard and a master illusionist, as well as a staunch believer in "the Curse of the Black Sun"

Seems perfect tbh.

He's the better Mikkelsen in English works imo. Much better than Mads, who is the better actor in Danish works.

Yeah this is one thing I'd have liked to happen. Don't know if it was just that hard to find Polish actors with enough English capabilities. Don't know enough about your film culture, even though I've worked with some Polish women at my last job.
