The thing is, we don't have an issue at RW, both Pedro and Willian are performing well.
So if we're going to make a signing there, it has to be a superstar, like Sanchez. Anderson just won't cut it.

Re: The 2017 January Transfer Window Thread
Matt Law (among others) is reporting that Chelsea have accepted an offer of £60m from AVB's Shanghai SIPG.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/12/13/andre-villas-boas-makes-stunning-60m-transfer-bid-bring-chelseas/
The report also claims Oscar has told his team mates he is moving to China.
Sad to see him go if true. I've always liked him, but he is surplus right now, and I doubt he'll play for us again. We won't get that kind of money anywhere else, but I'd rather see him stay in Europe.

Player who's been standing in mud since we signed him. Always on the cusp of supposedly breaking out and rising to his alleged potential yet never actually does. Can be relied on for 2 stellar months per season (with the exception of this year of course, as he's been kept out of the side altogether) before returning to his usual anonymity. £60m for him would bring new meaning to the term 'highway robbery' and would pretty much turn AVB from club laughing stock to club legend in one pen-stroke xD Still skeptical about it though. Surely this season can't get that good, right? Right??

Not the fist time a Chinese club has offered us that much for Oscar, and not the first time a Chinese club has overpaid for a Brazilian.
I think it can happen.

Yea, they've made throwing obscene money around on absolute dross an artform. The pessimist in me is still hesitant to get my hoopoes up, though.

Re: The 2017 January Transfer Window Thread
If Oscar knows whats good for him, he'll move on in Jan, there is very little chance he'll play much for the rest of the season.
So even if he doesn't go to China, I think we'll see him move in Jan.

Re: The 2017 January Transfer Window Thread
I thought Conte could revitalize him as he did with other players that are now rampaging, and tbf when he was a starter earlier in the season he was very solid, but at the present time parting ways it's undeniably the right solution for both.
I've been a hater of him in the last seasons but he was very good and enjoyable to watch when on his day. I'll never forget his brace vs Juve

Oscar will be the third highest paid player in the world if he signs:

Hopefully works out better than the last teenage wunderkind we signed from Scotland...

Re: The 2017 January Transfer Window Thread
Like seriously wtf? We would have accepted without a second thought if they offered the exact half of what they did for Oscar/Ramires. What's the purpose of spending 80 M for Oscar and Ramires when they're far from relevant in our team dynamics in the respective seasons of the transfers if not for flaunting about your money? Not that I mind of course

Re: The 2017 January Transfer Window Thread
That was the main reason for my initial skepticism about this story when reports of it first started surfacing. Why offer £60m straight out of the gate when just about anyone with even a moderate knowledge of English football could tell you a 50, 40, or even—as you said—30 million bid would have 100% seen their hand snatched off at light-speed by Chelsea? He's a bench player these days, and never has looked all that amazing in the first place. So unless this is just some "look how filthy rich and no-nonsense cutthroat we are" dickwaving by this club, *it's just wasteful insanity xD
*not that I'm complaining

Re: The 2017 January Transfer Window Thread
How would you guys move in this transfer market if this sale materializes?
So far Conte has a stable first XI, two subs but basically starters players in Willy and Cesc that he trusts as starters and have the same impact as them. Mitchy that was in that category at the start, but now he is an occasional sub like Chalobah when we need fresh energy in midfield or Ivanovic when the opponents are sending everyone in the box trying to equalize in the dying minutes to defend against the hoofs.
Oscar was a rare sub in this 10 games streak, he had no impact at all and, his absence won't be missed. So do we even need to buy a replacement?
I guess we'll have only 3 players for the 2 spots behind the strikers, which seems a bit lacking, but I believe that with the form Cesc has now switching to a 3-5-1-1 to accommodate him is a likely scenario.
IMO just take the money. We had a 100M net loss summer window (contrary to our previous transfers windows) in a non CL year. Just take the money to allow some room to breath, financially speaking.

Re: The 2017 January Transfer Window Thread
Not many changes should be made in Jan.
If the money isn't spent in Jan, it will be in the off season.
I think we'll go after Sule and perhaps a LWB. That could be up to 45m Pounds for both.
The remaining money will be spent in July.

Accordinh to italian newspapers Conte is pushing to get Badelj who is wanted by Milan/Roma/Inter. And according to these rumours we offered Mikel to Inter.
I think he's a fine player but nothing special. I guess there isn't much available in january.

Sounds like random rumors. Since Badelj clearly will leave Fiore, papers have been linking with him every team out there who might need a midfielder.
