Giroud is ok and it's hard to buy wc strikers but I agree that he should've found someone by now.

Re: English Premier League '16-'17 Discussion - Part 6
Thought it was interesting that United seemed less average when Rooney came on. He brought some energy into their game. Pogba was invisible and Herrera continues to be underrated. As for Arsenal, hopefully this puts to bed the Sanchez as a CF project that Wenger's been sticking with Giroud did more in his cameo than he did all game.
Watched City-Palace as well......the team that Pardew has shouldn't be that bad. Does expose how important Jedinak is to the defense though, which was atrocious. Script was written for Yaya as soon as news broke he was starting.
Watching Spurs-W.Ham right now......Eriksen is utter garbage right now. I don't think there's anyone in the Prem that needs a move more than him. He doesn't fit this team. Still a great player for me though.

West Ham 1-0. Mikael Antonio with the header.

Just watched Eriksen get his pocket picked, pass directly to the opponent and then pass the ball out of bounds.....all in the space of a minute.
Dire.

Out of curiosity have Spurs ever won a game when Kane and Janssen both started? Poch should give up on Kane as a 10, especially with Alli on the bench

Not sure, but from what I've seen of Janssen, he's not much better right now.
Would probably stick with Kane.

Janssen is terrible. Great ball in from Rose and he's jogging to it. No urgency from him.

As for our game, we needed to create more with all that possession. Firmino disappointed in this game, I'd really like to try another striker (Studge or Big Dick) in one of these games.
Also, Yaya
Pep's looking a bit silly right now for dropping him for something his manager said.
He benched him because he believed that he didn't work hard enough to play and quite frankly considering Yaya's history I'd say he was right to do so.
The whole agent stuff just further exacerbated the issue but wasn't the initial reason, no idea why he's playing now mind haven't followed anything PL related for a while.
Yaya played in place of Silva, who isn't exactly known for his work-rate

The whole "can't play Yaya coz he doesn't work hard enough" argument is just bullshit in games against mediocre opposition.
I'm probably the biggest Silva fan on the forum, but even I'll say that he looks unlikely to score two goals in a game this season. All the while having pretty much the same work-rate as Yaya.

Re: English Premier League '16-'17 Discussion - Part 6
Yeah but consistently he's not playing instead of Silva if he were to play so your argument is moot.
He'd play instead of De Bruyne or someone else in a deeper role, and his laziness across the board would be a big factor.
Also it's not bullshit, don't change history because he happened to score today he's a lazy albeit talented pos who has cost City games defensively many, many times since the season where he was unplayable and scored 20+ goals.
One of the most annoying things about the internet is how people tend to forget everything that has happened when one positive thing happens and throw everything else out the window like it never happened.

Janssen needs to come off, put Dele Alli in. Then again, Eriksen might have to come off if he has a concussion
From what I've watched, I'm 98% sure Spurs have yet to field the same starting XI that they did all of last season yet this season
It's a part of the game though and while Spurs certainly have been a lot more unlucky than most teams, they've responded to it very poorly.

Mike Dean gives yet another penalty for grappling in the penalty area
The only ref in the league to do so, it seems.
And Lanzini converts. 2-1 West Ham.

You've got to be kidding me! They were doing that to Kane in the penalty area earlier in the game, clear as day, even worse than Janssen

2-1 West Ham. Lanzini with no mistake.
Is Janssen really a striker? He's done more damage defending than attacking.

I think Janssen's value comes from the offball runs, no one can deny that he is putting the necessary work in. Problem is what he does with the ball...
Btw I looked it up and yes Spurs did win a single game where Kane and Janssen started, 1-0 against Stoke. The rest are all draws.
