Re: Inter Next Manager Sack Watch
I think they thought that marcelino was a gamble due to no Serie A experience and specially after De Boer project failed.
I don't like the looks of Pioli but let's see how he does.
I can't see him staying beyond summer.

What a smooth rise and steep decline. Pioli despite what Pescarese Robes say IS good solid manager yet so ingrained in some of his stubborn and somewhat provincial ways it was bound to happen that he wouldn't survive in what is his first stint at a big club.
Typical of him that he always has a steep rise but declines with no hope as that is the story of Stefano.
Meticulous tactician and quite frankly quite good but loses the bigger picture often.

Re: Inter Next Manager Sack Watch
Luciano Spalletti it is. Both him, and Ausilio said it, he is on the way to China to make it official.

By far the best manager they have got in a long time. Its a shame because I like Spalletti a lot.
His descent into darkness:
2005 presentation at Roma
2009 at Zenit, losing the title in Italy gave him a permanent angry face.
2016 Spalletti with that dead eye look that Roma brings out of you
2017 Spalletti turns to the dark side and decides to coach Inter, the team that ran him out of Roma in the first place.

^ Read just now , indeed I think same for Pioli.
Not a bad manager, he should make good for his next team , Fiorentina (where he was a legend as player ).
He's not adapted on big team for those reasons said by you , and I say it regardless of what he did under us.
He came after an atricoius beginning under De Boer, taken under him rationality and results, and collapsed just at the end becauise the CL dream was vanished and we don't care of EL place ( another Inter problem is that it's full of vitiated players, not humble. It's another reason why our season finished before after that the CL battle is done . While Milan was a humble group this year. Maybe even too much , looking at celebrations for the 6th) . But tbh not even Mourinho 'd have resolved really the situation.
I was In favor of the exchange (but not 3 matchdays in advance, he had to end the year. .. FFS Still I haven't understood the sense of it ) because his career is clear , and it's summarized on his 2nd year in Lazio.
If you want to strive up, the Pioli fragility will come out. He'd been sacked in October if stayed so better so.
On paper Spalletti is very great upgrade , that's clear, Â used to fight for higher levels for years (And even if I can't define him a winner, he won something in career unlike of Pioli )Â . Led even Udinese in UCL. And I suppose we couldn't aspire on better , considering the free managers (probably we were even lucky that he wanted to leave... ).
All that it 's not enough to reborn.

Re: Inter Next Manager Sack Watch
Ok, I am from Tuscany, born there of an American father (US Army officer and a Tuscan mother). But though Spalletti is a Tuscan, he is a small town Tuscan (Certaldo). Like Mazzarri who was born in San Vincenzo a small town within the province of Livorno. Allegri, also a Tuscan, is from my home town, Livorno city. I have had a few dinners with him among friends at events. Allegri is cosmopolitan (Livorno is a port city) and adapts. Both Mazzari and Spalletti have that small town provincial chip on their shoulders. It will be a disaster, but I hope I am proven wrong.

Re: Inter Next Manager Sack Watch
Inter needs a foreign manager with experience in top clubs. Laurent Blanc was a better choice.
I don't think hiring Spalletti is an ambitious move. Another provincial italian manager whose only option will be immediate success. Inter is too quick on the trigger, within 6 months he will get fired. Mark my words.

Re: Inter Next Manager Sack Watch
That 'provincial' manager who hasn't managed a provincial team in 12 years, and the last time he did (Udienese 2005), he led them to the CL. Extremely underrated.

Re: Inter Next Manager Sack Watch
Yeah I haven't idea why he'd be a provinciale manager , his career doesn't say he is a Mazzarri or worse even ...
About the international profile, yes, personally I'd have taken Pochettino and Real Gunner over him , but if I had to chose between him or Blanc ( and I loved him as player ) Spalletti easily

Re: Inter Next Manager Sack Watch
How is Spalletti so much better than Pioli ? Now you got 5 dimes instead of 2 quarters.
It was not my intention to say an insult, "provinciale" is not what i meant to say but it's the closest traduction i know. Another traduction could be "random" but this is still pejorative and not the word i'm looking for.
Fact is... firing Simeone, Blanc, Jardim after 6 months is not an option so you'd have time to find stability. But an italian manager whose best clubs are Roma & Zenith ? Inter is trigger happy and i think they won't respect Spalletti enough to give him a full season, if the players have a slow start.

Its heaven and earth from Pioli to Spalletti. Nothing Pioli has achieved compares to Spalletti's career. Without a doubt the best manager they've signed since Mourinho.

Re: Inter Next Manager Sack Watch
Better than Pioli for sure but then so are 70% of the managers.
He is an uninspiring choice. Won't last more than 2 years.
