Re: Is this Arsenal's year ?
DOnt they do this every year though? i mean they lose the first game so their fans go ape shit, with that arsenal tv lad, then they readjust then we think they are fine and compete. then come january to march and they falter, and at theend they readjust to finish top 4. How is this year any different?

They could use a player like Firmino or a CB like Matip.

I'd argue they have potential to be different.
Depth in midfield means if Cazorla is out they are not utterly *bleep* like before.
Goals upfront which wasn't really there before as Sanchez has seem to have made the CF position viable and those around him are making it work.
Finally have a reliable CB, i don't think it will be any different tbh because i don't trust them but pretty much every fault anyone ever had of them has been addressed position wise.

Re: Is this Arsenal's year ?
I definitely think this year is different for Arsenal. Previously in seasons you could tell it wasn't gonna last or they had too many weaknesses. This year they definitely are a massive challenger. Weaknesses have pretty much been covered. Depth is very good.
I don't see why not. City, United, Chelsea having new managers and needing a lot more time to gel gives Arsenal a great chance.

I say hold your horses, they have had a ridiculously easy calendar so far. Spurs will be the first real test.

It's cute how everyone is trying to pretend it is not clear what is going to happen.

Clearly you are referring to our Fabregas-era. The pattern was very explicable back then, if you know what I meanzenmaster wrote:I see the pattern that Arsenal do start on high note , but post Jan things start shivering. Many different reasons ... need to check post Christmas.

I didn't mean that directed just against Arsenal, a la you 'will bottle it', you 'don't have what it takes to win it', etc pp
There's nothing to bottle, and nothing to win this season.

Yes, it is all pointless in the end. Like a wise man once said, "I think the long term view is that in billions of years, the sun is going to grow and encompass the earth."

Chelsea was not a real challenge or is it only a challenge if Argentinians are involved?

Feel like they were still finding themselves at that point, they were coming from a defeat and a draw. But true, they count.
