It's time we talk about Joshua Kimmich!

His goal scoring form is unbelievable in the last month. 7 goals (6 for Bayern and 1 for Germany) after never scoring before.

Kid plays DM, CM, CB and sometimes RB like there's no tomorrow. Just so seamless. He looks like he's 10 years old and weighs like 90lbs but nothing fazes him at all.

Shame there's no appreciation thread in the general section till now.

Is he linked to Liverpool or something?

People laughed when he was playing him last season lol, although i can't say i have really watched him personally.

Depends on the people that were laughing. If it were Futbol or Viva then we can safely say it was just their usual F Pep agenda. If it were Hans, his opinion don't matter anyway. I don't think I have seen Rwo bad talk a non Leverkusen German player so it can't be her.

This kid is no more a kid now. Going to be immense...i think he is Müller playing in MF with better technical abilities !

He is playing like Lampard. And it is difficult to survive for a Lampard type player in a modern football to be honest. Technically tactically vision n possession wise you need to be better to play in CM for an elite team.

Kimmich is a good talent & is a fighter but I hope his overall play grows, he will be a top RB though & for Germany will be a natural successor to Lahm!

Kimmich has started CL matches as a CB. Tactically, Lampard is a two bit player is comparison to the talent the boy is showing.

Let's just make a list:
CM (natural role)? Check.
Fill in Lahm's boots at RB? Check.
New age Pep-playing CB? Check.
Let the reigns lose with AM movement? Check.

You put Lampard in a CM role and your midfield ceased to exist. Great player, but not a good CM.

Has the potential (and probably will be) to be the best utility player of his generation. CM, DM, CB, LB, and now AM is pretty impressive.

I am not disputing that Kimmich is more versatile than Lampard. The truth is Kimmich doesn't offer much creativity, great vision, dribbling, 1st touch, technical ability, great possession play, etc - some or most of which is needed for an elite CM.

I think he should play RB on the long run. And anyways Lahm has been horrible & has fallen off a cliff. It is probably time for Kimmich to play more RB for Bayern too! The Bayern CM line-up is not good enough & needs big upgrade IMO!

This is not to belittle him. He has a decent mentality, scores a lot of goals, he is versatile & a hard worker. I think he is a good talent. I like the kid - Currently I would probably start him regularly - On the long term Bayern is in trouble if he is the main starting CM!
