Looks like Boris will come good on his promise about leaving on the 31st. It's amazing what you can get done when you don't have to fight against trators in your own country.

Javid resigning is quite a shock. I guess he was too liberal for Boris.

Good for him.

Mr Javid quit after refusing to sack his aides in a row with the prime minister that took Westminster by surprise.

he needed to do his duty and was to weak to do the things nobody likes to do. boris was not going to back down on his request so javid quit. if you are part of a government then sometimes you have to get your hands dirty.

Budget announced today.

Very socialist budget lol. But then it's far easier for Tories to move to the left.

First time in years there isn't much to disagree.

This Dominic Cummings thing is a shit show for the UK government right now. Fortunate for the Tories the next election is over four years in the future, Boris can probably let Cummings keep his job and hope no one remembers this in a four years' time.

Keir Starmer has a 24 point lead over Johnson

Starmer does seem competent. A 24-point lead doesn't really matter, though, when the next election is over four years away.

He only got won the leadership recently. Has he made any valid/tangible contributions in national sphere or in labor activity/organization???

My guess is it's more disapproval for BJ than any approval for Keir Starmer.

It's actually £5000 so people can insulate their homes. But i doubt you'd be able to get cash from it.

Also an apparent 50% reduction if you are eating out in august lol.

nah there was a rumour going around via the guardian that the gov were considering £500 vouchers (apparently a few other countries have done this) for all adults that you could only spend in person in retail shops, apparently the financial think tank that came up with the specifics of the furlough scheme here recommended it to kickstart the economy since a lot of ppl are hoarding the money they have atm, understandably.

ppl online thought that meant it was 100% happening. Knew it wouldn't.

the insulation thing was a few days ago, apparently shit like this is available pretty often.

£10 off meals in august max, so Dominos will be £20 instead of 30 for an adults meal. WATTBA.

That's what they are planning to do. VAT has been cut by 5% however businesses won't hike the price down so they can help get their business back on track
