Re: Robert Lewandowski Vs Gonzalo Higuaín
Higuain.
Siad this before, Pipita is faster, better finisher and has better movement. Lewandowski is better at holding up the ball and playing with his back to goal and is better in the air. Higuain is also better at escaping his marker. Lewandowski misses too many chances for me. I remember at BVB the guy was missing sitter after sitter and BVB were creating the most chances in Europe. Too many times I have seen lewa not being able to escape markers and get boxed in culdesacs.
He has games like the 5 against Wolfs and 4 goals like against Madrid but I would take Higuain.
I guess it comes down to how you want to play but I would rather have Pipita.
Then I'd bench him when we play crucial games (:

I don't mean he won't win anything with Juve.
What has Robben got to do with it? I still highly rate Higgs

Re: Robert Lewandowski Vs Gonzalo Higuaín
Neither has won a major trophy yet, but as of today I would take Higuain as he is in the form of his life. I mean how many strikers who are obese can jump into the air and scissor kick a ball into the net?
However, if I was playing in the Champions League Final I would bench both of them in favour of Morata...

Re: Robert Lewandowski Vs Gonzalo Higuaín
What is this talk that both don't have major trophies? Both have titles in the big leagues.
I'd take Higuain on current form. It depends on what kind of player you want though. Both are better then the other at different things, and both are at the top in their position. I would definitely not be fazed if instead of Higuain we had Lewa.

Re: Robert Lewandowski Vs Gonzalo Higuaín
Lewandowski is overrated, he misses too many chances and has poor first touch. Higuain flops in every big game and cost Argentina two major trophies. If I have to choose, I pick Lewandowski, but I'd rather have neither.

Re: Robert Lewandowski Vs Gonzalo Higuaín
jibers post makes a lot of sense- i think higuain can do a lot of things better...however, this is where i disagree- if i was to pick one player in the game with a lot at stake, i'd probably go with lewandowski. yes higuain can do more, he probably has a broader skillset, but i just want a cf who will put the football in the back of the net; considering higuain's history, i'd pick lewandowski as the safer bet.....that's not to say lewandowski doesn't miss chances, because he does. but as good as higuain is, you never know which higuain you'll get. a lot of his goals are more brilliant and more difficult than most of his big game blunders. i think lewandowski in place of him, might have finished of some of those chances

Delusional about what ?
This is as fair a comparison as it can get. We're not comparing an elite player to a mediocre player here.

I remember the time when Juve fans would rather have Vucinic than Higuain in their team.

Have you seen Vucinic's goal celebrations???
He wins just based on those.

Re: Robert Lewandowski Vs Gonzalo Higuaín
Higuain for me, but these questions are always ridiculous because it depends on your team set up. If I've got lethal finishers out wide cutting or a lethal finisher playing alongside/behind the main striker I might prefer Lewa's superior hold up play, link up play and overall game.
If I have a team that creates plenty of chances and needs a striker who is going to convert more often than not when given a good chance, it's Higgy.
Overall I'll take Higuain but again it depends on your team

Re: Robert Lewandowski Vs Gonzalo Higuaín
It's hard tbh, while Higuain has choked in some big moments, Lewa misses way too many chances.
As CBarca said it would depend on the team around them.

Lewa is better for both club & country. There's no debate here.

Re: Robert Lewandowski Vs Gonzalo Higuaín
I checked out an update to this since I'm bored at work.
Lewandoski: 11 goals in 1104 min, minutes per goal = 100
Higuain: 8 goals 941 min, minutes per goal = 117
Lewa wins here
In terms of shots, Higuain did it in 43 shots, 20 less than Lewandowski's 63 shots
Higuain wins there
Lewa has 1 more CL game since Juve play tonight, it'll change things a bit.

Re: Robert Lewandowski Vs Gonzalo Higuaín
I looked at Suarez and Aguero as well for comparison of other top strikers.
Interestingly all 4 have scored 7 goals in their leagues.
In terms of shots taken to get there it goes:
Lewa (42) > Aguero (36) > Higuain (32) > Suarez (27)
