Re: The European Super League Megathread
If you don't understand the law, that's not my fault.
UEFA wasn't aware of the details of the operating agreement when they started proceedings. They found out later and, given their agreement with the EPL clubs, they can't proceed right now without being forced to punish them too... and that would run contrary to the settlements they reached. They need to clear the injunction in Madrid (that was handed over the European courts), get themselves in line the Swiss authorities' process, make their settlements fit legally into all this, and then move forward again.
Basically, the Madrid court is a local court in terms of European jurisdiction. The decision is being appealled to the EU courts. Given the political mood around this, I would bet quite a bit that the ruling gets overturned.
This isn't going away. Just delayed. A few legal hurdles need to clear first. The political statement needed to be made though by pressing the charges immediately.. and now it's time to let the process take over.

Notice that UEFA said that they are going to "stay the proceedings until further notice". It wasn't permanently stayed or halted.

Meanwhile all the Clubs that ran away but are still contractually in the SuperLeague committed to give 15 millions to UEFA as an apology… lol
UEFA abuse its power
This Super League project is far from over. Perez and co are damn persistent especially now they have european justice on their side. It will take years to sort this out, in the meanwhile UEFA cannot do anything to our clubs because of that court ruling in Madrid. Also it seems Real, Juve, Barca got the remaining 12 clubs by the balls.
Best we can hope for is Ceferin out, replaced by a more reasonable president, UEFA and the SuperLeague clubs find an agreement to save CL. A format totally different than the bs presented in april.

So what exactly are the facts in this latest scenario or should I just google and hope for the best?

Re: The European Super League Megathread
Looooool
Uefa scared the BL clubs into giving up revenue and now thry have to pay a fine to their FA. While the teams who stood their ground don't have to pay a penny
This ESL is happening sooner or later. If the windowshopping Germans van get off their backsides and join this cause

If that's the best we can hope for, football is gonna suck. ESL clubs are going to fuck their way into guaranteed spots every year

Re: The European Super League Megathread
This super league is going to happen one way or another!
It will be a much more concise format (and explainable) than the previously poorly presented format
And clearly understood that it is a replacement of CL, no changes whatsoever to other leagues.
UEFA and FIFA can’t deny their previous involvement in this, nor UEFA’s attempts to put a similar revised CL format in place nor can they deny that these super league teams dominate both play and TV ratings.
By the way the UEFA legal issues are all about EU rules regarding monopolies.

Re: The European Super League Megathread
A super league without the EPL, Ligue 1 and Bundi clubs looooooooooooooooooooooool. That's what it would have to be.
Never in a million years will any club from those leagues join given the fan and political ramifications.
You guys are just Madrid retards. At least the Barca and Juve fans (at least the ones on GL) aren't blind monkeys like Madrid fans.

Re: The European Super League Megathread
But EPL clubs did join the Super League. If I am not too mistaken, they are still contractually bound to it unless I missed that article where they rescinded their contractual dealings.
Also, I can see a Super League without Ligue 1 clubs tbh though it'll look weird without them.

Re: The European Super League Megathread
Once it is properly presented, whether it be by ESL or UEFA, it won’t be an exclusive clubs and will include Bayern and PSG.
You can’t ignore that the CL will be restructured and will be primarily these largest clubs nor can we, Madrid retards ignore the fact that the first option was poorly formatted and presented.

Re: The European Super League Megathread
Properly presented according to whom?
That wasn't a trial run, they designed the format and rolled it out to the public. If there hadn't been so much resistance that is the version they would have played. The vision of Perez, Agnelli and co. was that ridiculous format.
Now they will change it only because they are forced to.

And what do you call the two UEFA presentations of revised CL?
These are all trial balloons.

Re: The European Super League Megathread
Italian and Spanish teams better be hoping the revised edition comes to fruition. If it doesn't they're going to fall behind the English top 6 and PSG big time. I think it's safe to say those are the new European powerhouses now. We are witnessing the changing of the guard right now.

Re: The European Super League Megathread
We all laughed at the Premier League's marketing over the last decade but it sure has paid off for all of its clubs. The TV deals won't last forever and the most recent renewal saw a price freeze, but right now the top PL clubs are raking in so much cash the loss of fans for 18 months has barely damaged their spending power. Goes to show they really don't need the Super League.
Having six massive clubs helps. Arsenal and Spurs don't have the success behind them but still have huge fanbases globally which makes the PL an easier sell than La Liga and Serie A.

Actually no. It's in litigation. The operating agreement says that there's a minimum number of clubs that need to be committed or any member can call for dissolution. They've triggered the clause after the Serie A clubs other than Juve left (number fell below the minimum as a result) and the ESL is fighting it by saying the clause couldn't be triggered before the ESL was actually operational. Semantics. Years of litigations that will likely become moot.
