So the mistake was hiring him. Its not like it was a surprise that there was no preseason or transfers to make. Anyone they would bring in, would have no preseason. Everyone knew about the situation and they hired the wrong man for it.

Because it was evident that he would've gone half way through the season anyways... the man had no intention of carrying on at all with the new management and was sulking throughout pre season, it is a *bleep* and  the appointment of de boer in the first place was the wrong decision so now what? Get pioli or hiddink and by january next season (2018) they will almost certainly be gone because they want simeone.. when that falls through because psg sacked emery, he will go to psg... only thing separating whats happening now and what was happeneing in the period before this is the quality of the team

What about the guy who Swansea sacked, Guidolin? Looked like a very good, veteran Italian coach, no?

He is available, thought he was supposed to take over?

I'd say it was more of an issue of timing than the hire itself. Any manager would struggle under the environment that De Boer found himself in.

There is a difference between struggling and being 11-14th on the table. Rainieri used to live for these situations. Giampaolo came to Samp in July and has them level on points with Inter (and beat them too).

It also pissed the management off that he ostracized Gabigol and never played him. On top of the Brozovic situation, Jovetic, Biabiany, Melo and Kondogbia. He basically managed to make everyone angry. Mancini was at least able to manage everyone's egos for the most part.

Last season the defense was at least very good. It was able to carry them for half a season basically. Now they concede 14 goals in 11 games. If Icardi wasn't great, they'd be well into the relegation zone.

De Boer absolutely flopped.

@rincon
I get where u r coming from but 85 days is very short period for any coach no two ways about it. it's not like Inter were reigning champions or anything before he came. if it happened with Napoli it would have been understandable I guess.

85 days is short but imagine it if it was your club.

You have a coach new to the league, that is losing to mid table teams, that is having players unhappy, that is not focusing on youth players (which would be a reason to compromise results), and that is regressing the aptitudes the team had last season.

The defense was great last year, now its unreliable.

You get Mario, Banega, Candreva and Gabigol. Result? the team relies even more on Icardi. Like I said before, the only games they won where the ones Icardi scored braces.

Your wonderkid signing (Gabigol) has played 16 minutes.

Anyway, he is sacked now. Lets see if they can turn it around.

Gabigol Copa do Brasil's top scorer in 2015. Saved Brazil from exiting the Olympics. Given the no. 10 shirt at Santos and wanted by Chelsea, MU and others. I think he belongs in the good (better than decent) player category. Besides, I've forgotten more about football than you will ever learn about football.

Will never forgot in the Olympics final, how Lukas Klostermann won a sprint duel against Gabigol to a ball that was 10 meters away from Klostermann, 5 meters aways from Gabigol.

I knew right there and then nothing would come out of this guy

Wow, from one play you can determine the worth of a player. A genius in our midst. Darn Inter, had they spoken to you they could have saved 30 M or so euros.

Indeed they could've.

Or wait, probably the deal was done before the Olympics final was aired on TV and thus before I saw the guy play.
Also, Inter of course do not know who I am, do not have my phone number or email and aren't even aware they are missing those, since they do not know who I am. I'd even go as far as to say that they don't care who I am.
So it's unrealistic to assume they could have spoken to me.

Clearly the management that turned a treble winning club into a midtable club is a source of wisdom.

In all fairness it has to be said that Klostermann has SERIOUS pace -3.72 seconds for 30m pace-
or at least he had it - after he's back from his torn ACL who knows, sadly

Expected but very sad for it.
No energies to follow football this year.
I’ve read we are on Pioli or Marcelino now. Just a curiosity, how much is good Marcelino ?
What type of coach is him ? I want just know if there are chances to ruin him or there is nothing to ruin .

That's why they should hire Hans, or at least take his calls. One play and he can judge the future success or failure of a player, that's a heck of a talent.

I checked out the numbers,

De Boer managed 14 games (using whoscored to check). The fraud won 5 times, drew 2 and lost 7.

5/2/7

Pioli has now managed 12 games. He has won 9 times, drew 1 and lost 2.

9/1/2

Inter is now one of the most inform teams in Serie A and moved up like 7 positions, standing 1 point from top 4 now.

De Boer Sack Watch - Page 6 Empty Re: De Boer Sack Watch

Post by Katy Perry Fri Jan 27, 2017 12:22 pm

Inter has been coached by 3 foreigners in the last decade before FdB (which is a lot by Serie A's standard, but they're Internazionale for a reason)
The first two were Mourinho and Benitez. Mourinho had a troublesome start with Inter, he completely messed up the approach, he wanted to play with Quaresma and Mancini in a 4-3-3 but completely failed. He was quick to identify the problem, acknowledge it, readjust and rearrange his approach and he fixed the season. Benitez on the other hand was stubborn, he stuck with his approach and didn't change anything until he got sacked. And Leonardo (he's the third foreigner)of all *bleep* people came in mid-season and made Inter have a similar resurgence to the one Pioli is having.

Obviously they are different situations, but it's clear that FdB was heading in the Benitez direction and was going to crash and burn because he wasn't able nor willing to adapt.
