OM will continue being a disgrace
http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Actualites/Marcelo-bielsa-de-retour-comme-entraineur-de-l-om/719957
http://www.francefootball.fr/news/Gerard-lopez-et-marcelo-bielsa-a-l-olympique-de-marseille-c-est-fait/719953
France Football reporting that billionaire businessman Gerard Lopez is the buyer of OM and he has already agreed with Bielsa for him to return. A press conference is scheduled for the 28th or 29th of August to make the announcements.
Bielsa has already targeted 6 players to join him at the same time.
For those who follow Formula 1... it's the same Gerard Lopez.

Re: OM will continue being a disgrace
Pretty well documented locally that the reason Bielsa left is that he was promised a transfer budget and certain players for two summers in a row only to be lied to two summers in a row. He waited until the last moment for OM to come good on their promises and, when it was 100% clear that they lied again, he quit.
Everyone in Marseille adores him. They know what happened.

Re: OM will continue being a disgrace
Well, welcome back to him but the squad is very different now. Much much weaker. Gomis replaced Michy and Gignac, Mandanda , Nkoulou, Ayew, Lemina... out
Good luck to him but I don't see him staying more than a year or 2 at best.

Re: OM will continue being a disgrace
This report turned out bogus for now.
Guggenheim Partners, the owners of the Los Angeles Dodgers franchise, is the one leading here according to Le Parisien. Reason it's taking so long is that they are in due diligence.
That would be huge. Guggenheim Partners would be, by far (and I mean far), the richest owners in Europe after Qatar and the UAE. They have 240 billion dollars under management.

Frank McCourt, former owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team, it about to buy OM.
This guy is a charlatan and a fraud. He bought the Dodgers using 90% debt and then used the club to finance his lavish lifestyle. He ran the club into the dirt... so much so that MLB forced him to sell. The club was sent to bankruptcy court and sold out of bankruptcy for 2 billion USD.
Unbelievable. Couldn't dream of a worse choice if I tried.

Re: OM will continue being a disgrace
After everything Marseille fans have been going through on the recent years... i'm really not sure he is the right man for this situation. I think OM fans deserve someone who is a proven sports franchise owner.
Based on his Dodgers era...
- Tickets + stadium services (parking lot, food) prices were raised evry year
- Invested heavily in staff, players, managers. Yet none of these investments were perennial: no stability at all lead to no success.
- Spent more than 100 000$ from the club's bank for a russian medium to "give a positive vibe" to the team
Seriously, the Dodgers are an institution in the States and the guy was just a complete flop and nearly sunk the ship... Now he probably knows jack shit about football, better cross your fingers that the "football people" he surrounds himself with won't be fired every six months...
Oh well, everybody deserves a second chance, that's what they say

Just as I was about to become an OM fan too. Was thinking of getting more into Ligue 1 and they were going to be my pick of a team. Maybe Lyon is a better choice.
