Yea stonewall penalty.
Okay with the draw. Team is still unfit to the core. Koscielny was on the verge of an injury. Xhaka had 60 mins in him. Sanchez was awful. Giroud had 10 mins in him. Ozil was amazing when he came on. Wilshere looked quite sharp

Re: English Premier League '16-'17 Discussion - Part 2
Arsenal got lucky. Should have had a player sent off and gave away at least a penalty.
No signings will save this team. It is the manager. It is the way he sets his teams to play. It is the mentality he instils in his players. And his tactics. And his antics.
Time to go pops, seriously...

Apparently there was a new briefing that holding players in the box is going to called as a pen more often now.
Which is good IMO, it was too blatant in the PL (Smalling says hello).
However, as Howard Webb said just now on BT, we "should be careful not to analyse things too closely in slow motion".

Problem with that is more and more players will start going down in the box to try and get a penalty. Double edged sword

Re: English Premier League '16-'17 Discussion - Part 2
As I said earlier to me the City penalty should be called but the Stoke penalty nah.
It needs to be blatant and a certain level of pushing and pulling.

At least we were spared Mahrez or Vardy scoring against us and continuing that particular narrative, which is a reason to be cheerful.

Everyone says that, "100%", "clear", "Clattenberg got it completely wrong", even Howard Webb but I have to say I don't agree.
That's not a penalty and he ade the right call.
Musa and Bellerin run next too each other, Musa puts his right leg with a step in front of Bellerin's run in order so Bellerin touches him, they get tangled up and he falls down.
That's a very, very, very clever dive actually.
Spot on refereeing.
How Coquelin wasn't sent off is another matter though.
Good game, good draw overall.
Incredible what a difference Özil makes to Arsenal. Wilshere looked lively too. Watching Alexis is somehow just very sad, why is he so bad, and watching Walcott is infuriating.

Nah Bellerin's left leg tangled with Musa's. I would be crying about it if it wasn't given for us tbh

Of course you would be crying, I would be too. But if you look at it, you see that Musa places his leg in front of Bellerin's. If Bellerin was the striker and Musa the defender, it would be a penalty for Arsenal
It's really an expert dive, a bit too expert apparently.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said his side have a ‘lot to learn’ after their 2-0 defeat to Burnley. ffs when is he gonna stop saying that and start fixing it.

What's an expert dive?
That's how you win a stonewall penalty. If Musa has the ball, He has every right to position his body in whichever way he wants and its Bellerin's job not to tangle with him while tackling.
Its a penalty in a normal league match which should have been given, But it wasn't. Nothing new for anyone.

Wenger giving the most hilariously childish responses in his post match presser:
On why Asano didn't get a work permit - "He didn't cost £50m"
Wenger asked why he's reluctant to spend. "Why do you say I'm reluctant? If I buy you tomorrow, I've spent £45 million. Have I done well?"
— Tom Williams (@tomwfootball) August 20, 2016
Wenger: "Nobody speaks of Rob Holding. You should be happy. He's English, he's 20. But he didn't cost £55 million, so he can't be good."

I'm not saying we should sack him. I'm just saying as of now we still suffer from the same problems we did when he got here. we had all the ball. miles more shots at goal but lost. I know sometimes that happends you have days like that. but we have far to many days like that. he always says we need to learn from them games but we never seem to learn anything.RealGunner wrote:Serious question Unique, who would you have instead of Klopp at Liverpool?
