Where will we finish this season?
Re: Expectations for the Season
You're losing your skills imo
We'll go out in R16. There are few things that we can be surer of. #Wenger

He's right.
We'll actually finish 4th because no one goes to Razgrad and wins

Re: Expectations for the Season
7 points at home and 3 points on the road. 10 should be enough for 2nd place.Jay29 wrote:He's right.

Re: Expectations for the Season
I bet we'll have a really good run in the CL this year, only to have our hearts broken in quarterfinal injury time. Or even the semis.
Like, an 87' Suarez dive will earn the penalty that beats us on away goals, or something.

Going out to Barca on away goals would be progress tbh.

Every season is the same. It's actually freaky.

Re: Expectations for the Season
After we go out against Bayern, what would be left to care about this season? Doubt many care much about the FA Cup. It doesn't really matter if we get into top 4 because it's pointless at this point. Only way it would be useful is if Arsene retires at the end.
I don't know how it ended up like this again. In the end we have changed teams and squads but the end result has been the same for nearly half a decade.
Does anyone really look forward to watching Arsenal as much as we used to in the past? Obviously we still support the club but the feeling of "Is the season over yet?" makes it really difficult to give a shit anymore.
I hope Arsene realises that he has given his all and has no more ideas anymore and retires. It's okay if Sanchez and Ozil and anyone else leave. It's not like we are swimming in CL and PL titles. We'll suffer through the rebuilding phase and it won't be anything new. At least we'll suffer in a different way.
0 expectations from this point onwards

Re: Expectations for the Season
We changed teams and squads. heck we even had backroom and boardroom shuffles in this last decade. Even the grass on the pitch was relaid.
The only constant? One man past his sell by date.

Re: Expectations for the Season
No idea why we are offering Cazorla an extension. Time to get rid and sign someone else.
Out: Wilshere, Cazorla, Coquelin.
In: Verratti, Thiago Alcantara, Lemina

If Verratti or Thiago had even the tiniest chance of being lured away from their clubs by Arsenal I would start petitions, light candles, send letters to editors (all the editors), pitch in a bit of my own paycheck to help fund their fees, etc.
Then again, Thiago's injury record isn't great. Could be Arsenal DNA? He, Aguero, and Kompany would be fantastic captures for our physio room this summer.
Edit: sadly I agree about Cazorla. I adore him as a player and would expect to see him contribute in top flight football for a few more years, but it's best in Arsenal's case to look for someone else now.

Re: Expectations for the Season
Lol that was a joke man.
We should look at Tielemans who is more attainable. But idk if there is any point of signing these players under Arsene. They are all going to end up playing the same way lol.
New manager will have his own barca style of play so we'll see who it is.
If Arsene stays then welcome Gourcuff

Re: Expectations for the Season
Yeah I get it - was trying to run with the joke a bit!
Tielemans is good. He's become more creative at Anderlecht lately right? I haven't watched him recently. He played really well against us a couple seasons ago.
