I don't even think Biglia would be that bad but kind of Hernanes like, in the question of: why?

Verratti would be the best option for you guys, in my opinion. I would love him to see at Juve. Matic is also great. I can see him reaching tactical awareness level 100 with Allegri.
But is it necessary to buy a player in the midfield?

Would be so hyped if Asamoah was sorted out. He looks so damn good in midfield when he's fit. Prefer a fit Asamoah over Matuidi for example.

Khedira is our only tall midfielder, that bugs me a little.

Re: The Midfield: From Hero to Zero?
Marchisio, Asamoah, Khedira and Lemina are unfortunately all injury prone so if you consider their injury record then yeah, we do need to sign a midfielder.Vlad the Impaler wrote:Verratti would be the best option for you guys, in my opinion. Plus we've recently lost our star midfielder in Padoin so someone has to take his place.

Re: The Midfield: From Hero to Zero?
I think the injury proneness of our midfield is what is mainly concerning:
Marchisio -> long term
Khedira -> unfortunately an injury waiting to happen
Pereyra -> injury after injury last season
Asamoah -> injured consistently over the past couple of seasons
I think that's what is concerning, it's when you cannot depend on players to be available. It is, unfortunately, part of the game but I think we have a couple too many injuries waiting to happen in that midfield.
If everyone was put together, and the few that have struggled the most, like Asamoah and Pereyra, have had the benefit of a full and healthy pre-season training, then maybe we would be alright.
The rest depends on market availability, panicking last season left us with Hernanes himself, I pray, I pray the same mistake doesn't happen this season.

@Andrew, Luca, heffkzar
Thank you for your answers. If the injury problems are that bad, I agree with going for a new midfield player and now I have my mind set on Juve buying Verratti. But there aren't real signs of it happening, are there?
* A fantasy formation of mine (Juve turning into a more and more technical team regarding ball control & dribblings with players like Pjaca, Dybala, Pjanic, Verratti, Dani Alves around)

Re: The Midfield: From Hero to Zero?
I don't see why he wouldn't leave, to be honest.
Salary? Future plans with PSG?
He is Italian.
Tried to win UCL with PSG a few times and couldn't.
Pogba left, it is the perfect moment for him to come and hype the team up. Something new is already being built at Juve.
Higher and realistic chances of winning UCL and many titles in Serie A.

Re: The Midfield: From Hero to Zero?
Yeah but PSG don't need any money and Verratti is one of their most prized players. He renews all the time and says that he isn't thinking about a return to Italy yet.
I'm sure he would be happy to join Juve, he is a fan after all, but I don't think he would force a move out of Paris. Not for a while at least.

Re: The Midfield: From Hero to Zero?
I'm hoping that we trust Sturaro for him to become the next big midfielder in Italy. The pillars are all gone besides Marchisio, (De Rossi). Hopefully it will be a sturaro-verrati- X in the NT.

Re: The Midfield: From Hero to Zero?
After De Rossi, Marchisio and Parolo (who I highly rate, Juve...) I'd like what you posted, and add Jorginho who is immense in short pass, but keep in on the ground system (he should honestly go to Barca).

Re: The Midfield: From Hero to Zero?
I didn't know that Sturaro and Jorginho are so good and have the potential to become first options and very important for the NT of Italy. I know that Sturaro is already a NT player. Same with Jorgi?

Re: The Midfield: From Hero to Zero?
Jorginho is a looooooot better than Sturaro. The only reason Conte didn't take him (which caused a lot of controversy) was that he had a very strict vision of what he wanted from his Regista (the controller of the game). He wanted the long ball, vertical pass style, ala Pirlo. So he took De Rossi and Thiago Motta for the position.
Jorginho is the player most similar to "tiki-taka" that I see outside of Spain. He was the player in Europe with the most passes per game, 102, with 91% accuracy per whoscored. Huge stats. But he keeps it short, keeps it on the ground, keeps it fast. Conte (and a lot of Italian managers) looked for something else.
Sturaro was very highly rated before his Juve move and did well in Genoa. For us he started great but since then its been hot and cold. He tends to perform in the big game and fade in the small one. Mostly because his passing is poor, so when he has to take control of a match he struggles. Against a big team he does well since his running, tackling and positioning become more important. He is only 22 I think, we'll see with him.

Lemina is injury prone? I think he had 1 injury total last season which was about 1,5-2 months

I might be wrong but from what I remember he missed a good part of the season being out injured. Not 100% sure though.
