Re: El Pipita | Gonzalo Higuaín
you guys worry about this matter "weight" oo much
he'll be fit for the start of the season, and i wouldn't mind playing Mandzukic-Dybala for the first match, against Fiorentina.

Re: El Pipita | Gonzalo Higuaín
Overweight Gonzalo Higuain put on a diet...
Gonzalo Higuain has reportedly been put on a diet by new side Juventus after returning from the summer break overweight...
The Argentine striker, 28, moved from Napoli to the Serie A champions in a £75m deal last month but drew criticism from fans having seemingly piled on the pounds in the off-season.
Former Real Madrid midfielder Robert Prosinecki even went as far as to brand Higuain "a little pig" after seeing him in action in a pre-season friendly with West Ham United last weekend.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Juve hierarchy are also concerned about Higuain's "extra junk in the trunk" and have put him on a "strict weight-loss plan to lose some kilos as soon as possible".
Despite his excess baggage, Higuain is still expected to feature for Juve tonight in their pre-season friendly with Spanish side Espanyol.

UFC fighters can cut 10 pounds in a day. Like it was ever gonna be a problem. I'm in Canada and I see hockey players walking around overweight in the summer all the time when they are on vacation. Guys can't train 12 months out of the year. He took extra time off and enjoyed himself. Now he's back in regular training. He was never a slim guy to begin with other than when he was 20.
He may not start this weekend but for sure he will be ready for game 2.

Who is that in this pic! I can't recognize him! Haha!
I don't know if this picture shows everything though. Some pictures are deceptive so lets wait and see on the match day.

Re: El Pipita | Gonzalo Higuaín
You can't lose more than 2lbs a week (0.5-1kg) in terms of actual mass. Anything over that is water weight which doesn't serve any purpose other than making weight for boxing, wrestling, etc. Those guys just need to sweat the pounds off for the weigh-in and then they re-hydrate themselves and immediately put it back on. I did it for judo competitions as a kid so I know how it works lol. Horrible for you btw...
If Higuain can drop 4kgs in a month, he's maximized his weight loss. So if he's 8-10kgs over, it'll take a little over 2 months of rigorous dieting.

I honestly don't think he gained 10 kgs in like 2 months. He'll easily get fit anywyas.

Of course it wasn't 10 kg. He didn't put on 10kg in 5-6 weeks ffs
He is just a big guy, and he will be fit soon.

Yes of course. I live in beautiful Vancouver Canada. My team is Vancouver Canucks of course. I like Detroit as well and Gretzky was my favourite player of all time. The Russian Pavel Bure played for Vancouver. Most exciting hockey player ever.

Re: El Pipita | Gonzalo Higuaín
10kg's is 22 pounds. You'd have to be eating pizza and Big Macs all day for two months to gain 22 pounds as an athlete. At most he is or was 5kg's overweight. And it was all on his gut which means a lot of it was just water and belly fat, which can be easily taken off in 2-3 weeks with 4-5 hours per day of intense cardio workout and a proper low carb diet. I know cause I've done it myself and I'm not even an athlete!

Re: El Pipita | Gonzalo Higuaín
You're very lucky if you saw the eras of them Gretzky, Lemieux, Bure legends.
I'm confined to their highlights on youtube videos and not actual games, and yeah Bure was one heck of a player !
Dark days are coming for the Canucks i believe, sadly It seems like the club was poorly managed since that year you guys reach the final.

Yeah I was a teenager watching Gretzky is his prime in the 1980"s with the Oilers. What a time to be alive to watch hockey!! And then Lemieux a few years later. I actually started watching hockey much earlier than European football, as I grew up as a kid in Canada following the Canucks, so mid 1970"s I was actually watching hockey on my black and white TV!!
Yes I watched Bure's first game live. What a sight to behold. Those Youtube videos don't do him justice. He was much faster in person. What a time to be a Canucks fan.
In terms of today, they still have the Swedish Sedin twins, so we still look to make the playoffs this year. Those Swedes can play until they are 40. Look at Nick Lidstrom, one of the greatest defensemen ever, he played until age 41. And how about Ibrahimovic? He's still going strong at 35. Something about Swedish athletes, they are freak well conditioned people that's for sure.

Re: El Pipita | Gonzalo Higuaín
Fun fact, in terms of European football, I was in Italia with my family visiting relatives in the summer of 1982 as a teenager. So I watched the 1982 World Cup in Milano with my cousin's. Well when Italia won against Germany in the final you can just imagine the hysteria in Milano!!
I still remember that summer. It was one of the best summers of my life!!! That's when I got hooked on Eurpoean football and became a Juventino. Paolo Rossi, Gaetano Scirea, Dino Zoff, Antonio Cabrini, Claudio Gentile, and of course Marco Tardelli.
If you look at Italia today it is built almost identical to 34 years ago, with a Juventino in goal and a formidable Juventus backline with some Juventini midfielders thrown in. And of course Rossi. I still remember Gentile and Scirea destroying Maradona at every opportunity in the Italia/Argentina game. They were the defending champions and we owned them. Great memories.
