Mixed tbh.

We have had a couple of 4 or 5 game winning streaks and then go on similar losing runs which i expect as we're realistically not a very good team.

It helps a lot though because he can defend and get AD in good spots to do damage and due to how the West is trash below the top 7 we are only two games out of the 8th spot lol.

Not surprising tbh. Lakers have basically never had a single bad season before. Everytime we lost a huge star we've had an equally huge star to take over.

We basically had a team consisting of
Jerry West and Elgin Baylor. Then Wilt Chamberlain joined and Gail Goodrich was also on it. That's four hall of famers on the same team at some points.

After those players retired or left. We then signed Kareem, who is the best Center of all time in 75, 1 year after Jerry West retired and 2 years alter Wilt.

Kareem was joined by Wilkes in 77, Magic some years later in 79 and then Worthy in 82. That's our best team ever.

Magic sadly got HIV and had to retire in 91.
Between 91-96 we had the leftovers from Showtime, Vlade Divac and Eddie Jones in 94.

Then in 96 we had version 3 of Lakers superteams forming with Shaq and Kobe, which lasted until 05. Then we had some rough Kobe YOLO years. Kobe was too good and healthy for us to lose big and he carried us to the playoffs in a crazy manner. Then we got Gasol in a robbery trade and won 2 more championships.

Kobe's injury changed all this. His contract and the new way NBA works made the big losses possible. We couldn't afford to pay anyone and no one wanted to come. So we had to build through the draft, but we had no certain picks. We got lucky and have to work through, but it's hard because we're missing a superstar for the first time ever. 92-96 are the closest we've ever come as far as being without a superstar. Nothing compares to this though.

Westbrook had his 19th triple double but he had a pretty shitty game overall. He's having 1/10 from 3s and had countless turnovers. I knew that when he hit that ridiculous hot streak he would stubbornly try to shoot them at any time and hamper OKC's offensive play as he was never really consistent with them throughout his career.

I find it so weird listening to people saying Rockets play like Golden State. D'antoni teams has played like this for two decades

My gawd destroyed Gobert today. He's gonna be a superstar. Already deserving all star. Should be picked as a reserve imo. He's the only reason Nuggets are 8th seed. He's the most skilled big man since forever. Insane basketball IQ. Already the best passing big and top 10 passer in the league period. And he's an elite scorer and rebounder. Can't even imagine what he can do in actual star minutes.

Nuggets have better players around him than AD does IMO. Also there's only a 1.5 games difference anyway

I was going to mention Jokic as the big that nobody is talking about and it's nice to see another talented big to go with Embiid, Towns, Porzingis etc etc.

But the reason is because he's only exploded over the last month, he's been great since then though.

Shame tbh. He was probably the most impactful sixth man in the league when it came to offensive production and he was improving his defensive game and thus getting more minutes. RIP stache bros

That's not really true though.

I would say Jrue Holiday, Tyreke, Cunningham, Pondexter, Motiejunas, Terrence Jones, Hield are pretty much equal to Gallinari, Faried, Chandler, Barton, Harris, Mudiay.

The biggest problem for AD and Pelicans was that Holiday, Tyreke, Cunnigham, and Pondexter were all injured at the same time for a lengthy period. And Motiejunas was just signed 2 weeks ago.

And with Jokic he wasn't even inserted into the starting line up until mid-December. Since then he's been leading them to comfortable over .500 record.

Most of those guys are scrubs or bad fits for Davis.

The only one i wouldn't get rid of tomorrow is Jrue Holiday.

Would much rather have Faried (better big than anything we have), Chandler, Gallinari(both better wings than what we have) and Barton/Harris(both better shooters/scorers than what we have) over their Pelicans counterparts.

Agreed with Mole on this one, though Hield I think will develop into a good shooter valuable to the Pelicans franchise. How is he doing now anyway? I've heard he's improved.

Yeah he has, i'm a bit unfair to him really but at the same time there's no guarantee's he's going to be better than Denver's guards matter about anything else.

Right, I don't disagree with you, but I would say given he's still a young player and a rookie it's both tough and foolish to say that you would "trade him tomorrow".

Especially when you look at his development over his college career. Not that it's guaranteed he will make such a change in the NBA, but he's clearly got talent and more than that he's a very hard worker.

Seriously though, look at his college stats ffs. 7.8 ppg as a freshman, .238 from 3. But senior year: 25ppg at .457 3pt shooting.
