Yes Mathieu scored the only goal but a couple of minutes later missed an open net from 10 yards out with no one pressuring him.

I don't give a shit if he scored or not- he's absolute trash (and so is Mascherano).

We haven't had a player so clumsy on the ball for years and yet he keeps starting somehow :facepalm:

Two fking idiots ruining my day. Can't even handle minor teams. They play like straight up amateurs.

I wish Pique/Umtiti could play every game from now on.

I like that front line but Garay is about the only reliable defender in the defence.

Suspect they can put a few past this Betis team, though. Poyet was a poor choice of manager for them.

I think Mangala's gung-ho style of defending might work better in LL than it would in EPL. Kind of like Otamendi with a similar style of play. Not only that but he is fast and strong two advantages when it comes to defending in LL. I am just glad they finally decided to bin Andennour and Ryan. Lord knows why Alves was benched for so long

Valencia 1-0 down at ht and don't look lie scoring either. Betis with 10/10 gameplan. Defend and press in their own half and release Joaquin or Castro when they do get the ball

I don't know which was worse, Lucas "back" pass against LC or that unbelievable miss. Wait, yes, Mathieu's miss was worse. Speaking of things Liverpool, according to that pic Hala posted, Liverpool spent quite a lot to accomplish a whole lot of nothing (of genuine note). Also thought Madrid would have been higher.

Pretty impressive numbers here either way. It would be interesting to see where those players originated from though. Like are the majority of them just academy stars from other clubs that each team bought at a really young age (thus qualifying them for the Real Madrid/Barcelona academy)? If not it is pretty incredible, well, I mean it's really impressive either way because you still have to nurture that talent whether it's poached or not.

Kiko Femenia, Saul, Luis, Vidal and Willian Jose can't really be called our youth players apart from that that list is pretty accurate. We churn out half our academy to these LaLiga teams every season, it's like a car boot sale every summer transfer window and people think we destroy LL Rolling Eyes

The graphic itself remarks that they are not saying that these players were formed in these academies, just that they at some point passed through them.

Doesn't really say much about either club.
