Meh. YB equalised. But how on earth can you allow an opponent attacker to stand completely free 3 metres in front of the goal

I used to give Pardew shit for subbing a left back for a left back when we were 3-0 down
At least in Pep's case they are winning lol, still stupid though.

How's it stupid?
They need game time to learn the system because as we know inverted full backs has been a staple diet in English football in eons.

Re: 2016/17 UEFA Champions League Qualification
Damn, our strikers need to start converting these chances. The tie could and should have been decided today. Great performance apart from that. Oh and I guess we need a new goalkeeper.. he's a massive problem at this point.

I know we played a small team but that's kind of what we do all the time in our league.

FFS Roma's only left-back is emerson whoever is in charge of signing these defenders needs to get shot. Its amazing to go into a season with your oldest LB being a 22 year old rookie. Peres needs to come asap as well to have a real RB besides perma-injured Torosidis.
Well in Sabatini's defense, we actually did sign a LB, Mario Rui, who then ended up tearing his ACL, leaving Emerson as the only LB in this squad since Seck wasn't picked.
Peres won't be ready for today's game, but should be ready for the Serie A opener on the weekend. We'll just have to hope Porto doesn't target Emerson. TGIP has been experimenting with a 3-man backline so the lack of LB could be moot anyway.

Re: 2016/17 UEFA Champions League Qualification
I'm hoping for a 4-3 Leverkusen style. Midfield and attack are great but the defense is not there. I think it would be nice to play Juan Jesus at LB and Florenzi at RB for now so that your 4-3-3 can play as a 3-5-2. Juan Jesus can be LCB/LB and Florenzi is already not a real fullback so RWB suits him better IMO.

Yup, I hope there's a fluidity to how we move between these formations. Could keep Porto off balance as well.

Re: 2016/17 UEFA Champions League Qualification
Villareal got this. Jemerson is starting at CB for Monaco. That's 2 goals or more for Villareal right there. He makes Lovren look like Nesta....

Monaco up 1-0 after 2 mins
Now they need to score at least one more to make up for the 2+ goals they will concede.
