Not really, no. That's actually not that great for France, and rather pleasant for Germany.

Re: SF: France Vs Germany
I watched a lot of Man U... Piggy is done. He's not going to be able to handle Pogba or Matuidi at all. Has lost like 5 steps since 2014.
Wasn't all that impressive replacing Khedira in the last game either... not at all actually.
Maybe he turns back the clock in this game. But he hasn't done anything all season.

Yeah, I still hope Weigl plays instead. Maybe he will be saved for the final, should Germany qualify.

Re: SF: France Vs Germany
I don't think Schweinsteiger will play in the end. Löw said in two interviews now he won't field someone who is "not 100% fit", seems like the copout he'll need to not field the side's captain without catching too much flak placed wisely in advance.
Could be wrong, but I think the smart money is on Weigl.

Re: SF: France Vs Germany
Not their fault the number 2 ranked team Belgium got humiliated by Wales with that being said the 3rd place rule is obviously dumb and unnecessary, hopefully they get rid of it for the next Euro's since there has been quite a lot of complaint.Lucifer wrote:FIFA ranking sounds good tbh. I know FIFA rankings have their own drawbacks but any system that doesn't lead to Portugal vs Wales semi is better one imo.

Yeah tbh before they do this 3rd placed teams BS again, they should probably just be honest about it and make it 8 whole groups. At least it forces the teams in each group to actually go for it.

I am wrong, just read online that this afternoon Löw said (at the press conference) Schweinsteiger will start.
Well well...

In Marseille, they have pretty high temperatures atm. I really fear that whoever makes it tomorrow will be at a severe disadvantage in the final

Yeah. Hottest day of the summer so far in the region. Mid 30s and pretty humid.

Good news for neutrals like me as it will probably balance things out a bit and make the final more interesting

Re: SF: France Vs Germany
Nobody in France (or in their right mind) thinks France is the favorite here. We're going to play Umtiti instead of Rami... and they've both been horrible At least with Umtiti, you have some hope though The attack and midfield has been good mostly. Matuidi is surprisingly the weak link. He's been very inconsistent and his defense has been suspect at times.
Giroud and Payet have been consistently good. Pogba and Griezmann have gotten a lot better the last 2 games. Sissoko has been surprisingly effective. Kos has been solid. Lloris is Lloris. That's the extent of the guarantees in our regulars... 7 out of the 11. The other 4 are not known quantities in terms of expected performance. That's too much unknown.

Defining game for a (french) generation today. Umtiti with only 1 game for his Nt is going to face the most feared NT in the world. Can't wait .

Re: SF: France Vs Germany
France are going to win IMO.
I'll be disappointed if Frances wide players don't exploit Germany's fullbacks and the lack of a proper CF is a big blow because it will give Muller less space.
There is the trump card of Frances CBs are meh but based on the lineups i favour France. Germany will need massive games from Ozil and Kroos to win the game IMO.

4-3-3? Good lineup tbh. Better than some horror show Lamesteiger+Kroos double pivot
