Steve Bruce has been interviewed by the FA as well.
This is a strong candidate list.

England should get Bielsa and just escalate the madness to uncharted levels. Just think of the english press following every moment of Bielsa's nonsense.

Yesterday the Guardian took a look at the "four contenders" Steve Bruce, Sam Allardyce, Eddie Howe and Jürgen Klinsmann with pros and cons:

Would take Howe only because it's something different even if it fails.
Bruce and Allardyce would be certain failures.

Re: The Three Lions
The Guardian making a persuasive case for Big Fat Sam, based on principle
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/jul/17/england-next-football-manager-sam-allardyce-football-association-fa
Paul Wilson @ The Guardian wrote:
English manager needed for national service and Sam Allardyce heads queue
The shortlist is embarrassingly short but to look beyond these shores for the next England manager would be even more shameful for the home of football
[...]
It is hard to escape the conclusion that the FA makes life unnecessarily difficult for itself when it glibly states that it wants the best man for the job regardless of nationality. No other leading football country gives itself the same dilemma, because almost all the developed nations stick to the fundamental principle of international football, that it should be a true contest between nations without borrowing or blurring of boundaries.
It is not exactly cheating to hire a foreigner as coach – there are reasons why it might be beneficial for emerging nations to do so – but a country with a strong domestic league and a World Cup winner’s star on its shirts should have no truck with it. Especially when England has no one else to blame if too many of the managerial positions at its top clubs are held by foreign coaches, leading to a situation whereby English managers find it hard to break into the elite.
It is far too easy to sneer at Bruce for only managing at Hull, when the more difficult question to answer is why he has never been offered a chance at Manchester United. Note too how Sir Alex Ferguson rarely misses a chance to rate Allardyce highly when the England job is under discussion, though was much more reticent about advancing his cause as a potential successor at Old Trafford.
English managers are stuck in a double bind. There are not enough of them, they cannot get the top jobs, yet when the England job is up for grabs they are accused of lacking experience. Premier League short-termism might have brought this situation about, but the FA should be resisting the trend, not affirming it.

Re: The Three Lions
The article I posted above adresses why that wasn't a wise proclamation by the FA (to say they search for the best candidate REGARDLESS of nationality), but argues that it's still the right thing to do to pick an Englishman.
I do agree, in all seriousness.

Of course he could get a football related job in Germany. It's just the case that, unlike in the Premier League, the majority of coaches (probably three quarters) in the Bundesliga is German, so we rarely have a shortage of options.

Mike Bassett lmaooooo
Tbf nobody is exactly lining up for this job. Any tier 1 tier 2 manager wouldn't downgrade to this shitty job. What's left is a bunch of relegation prem managers and some terrible foriegn coaches.

Meh. The main difference is our league has less money. That's the deciding factor.
Clubs with money to spend get stupid ideas. You see it in Bundesliga, too. Then you have suddenly Wolfsburg paying 25m€ for Zaza or Schalke hiring Di Matteo. Wouldn't happen had they as little money as Mainz or Darmstadt.

Are you serious lol? even before the money came in it is what an issue.
Just to use an example, you have over 5 times the amount of coaches we have we have Uefa A License lol. You have 6,934 coaches with said license and we have 1,395 lol and that data is from 2014 so he's probably widened since then.
We stink from top to bottom, the reason you don't have have a problem picking coaches is because you teach them from the grass roots to the top and we don't. Money in the PL has absolutely nothing to do with that.
