This is undoubtedly the most boring matchup in all of international football. Spain will win on penalties as usual.

Not unless Italy play the way they played against Belgium. Spain look very vulnerable on the counter. But yeah, knockouts will be a different ball-game and the team's concentration will be much higher.

On the bright side, we could see a dark horse make the final. Croatia, Belgium, Poland, any of them.

Croatia vs Italy would be GOAT final I suppose

Italy would have been better off losing to Belgium, but meeting Spain is probably better for them than meeting Croatia.

Would love to see BBC shut down Morata to the point that he will think his life is shit and he fakes a injury to get replaced.

Italy don't have anywhere near the offensive power Netherlands had.

Hoping for an entertaining game and an Italian victory. But I am 100% certain this will go 120 minutes of some of the most boring football and then pens (which will probably be the most entertaining part of the match).

Italy should be happy with this. Croatia is a tougher opponent than Spain right now. Spain is very beatable.

This game is very intriguing as it is two teams aimed at playing in completely opposite ways

Spain will want to dominate possession and keep piling on pressure
Italy will want to let that happen, win the ball and counter quickly

I think this game comes down to the wing backs of both teams and whether or not Italy has the offensive ability to counter quickly in anyway

I am a little bit surprised at how many people are discrediting Spain still, I think were reading too much into the group stage, and besides that Spain was very strong and fell to a last minute winner from Croatia in the last group game, making this match up possible.

I mean, to an extent, I understand the Spain doubters. I just don't understand the blind Italian proponents, I'd say Spain are favoured here but Italy can win.

It will be a very tight game. I'm thinking more like the first Italy-Spain of Euro 2012 when it ended 1-1 and Prandelli played the 3-5-2 with De Rossi. Spain was better then than today, but they didn't really have a hold of the match until Torres came on.

Iniesta and Morata are my main worry. The possession is sterile without those 2. That said, I think the team will be able to shut them out. Italy has the players to hurt Spain, I expect Candreva and Pelle to have a good game with the few chances that we'll generate. 1-0 Italy is what I have on my bracket game with some friends.
