Unless you play to play all day and night you'll struggle with that.

Lead dev said it takes 25-35 hours.

Unless you are not enjoying it there's no need to rush it tbh, everybody else here has already played Dark Souls so it's not like you are trying to be there day 1 to share in everyones experience hmm

I know they are great games but i didn't realise how well GOW games reviewed.

God of War: 94
God of War II: 93
God of War III: 92
God of War: Ascension: 80
God of War: Chains of Olympus: 91
God of War: Ghost of Sparta: 86

Bottom two are PSP games, and Ascension was a spin off prequel so that score isn't surprising.

Kind of expecting 90+ scores considering Kratos is showing more character this time around in the trailers and detractors constantly bitched about that in the past.

GoW is a GOAT trilogy for sure. Never played the spinoffs.

This has a really high bar to measure up to.

I still think the game will be amazing but I'm still very sceptical of how they handle the transition from GoW 3 kratos like I've said before. Hearing soft reboot isn't too inspiring. Hope they do it well.

Are spoilers from old games in the series fair game here?

Difficulty
Before starting, a player has to decide how demanding the game should be.

God of War’s four difficulty settings includes one that it is so intense that it has a separate save and can’t be changed after the game is started in that mode. It allows players to play the most challenging mode without having to sacrifice to play through the game’s other difficulties, which includes one that is meant to essentially covey the story.

And that fourth, hardest setting isn’t simply an algorithmic increase in difficulty, God of War creative director Cory Barlog says. “We did a ton of stuff to make it a genuine challenge, not a cynical increase. Enemies are all changed up. We changed the attack patterns of things; it’s hugely different.”

The decision to include the easiest setting, which is called Story Mode, was meant to appeal to players who just want to enjoy the world and “not get beat up every two seconds,” Barlog says.

Bit in bold is great, just increasing stats for difficulty is getting old.

Pretty hyped for it as the release gets closer.

But I am not sure spending 45-50 on it. Hopefully someone can sell it for 39.99

this was me when Persona 5 was releasing, I waited too long and ended up having to pay 65 instead digitally rofl

I don't think GoW will be undershipped at all but something to consider

Currently a 94 on metacritic which would make the highest ps4 exclusive this generation.

Which I expected tbh, the previews were absolutely gushing over it to the point it was unusual for even media hype.

The critics score will balance out over time. Slate Magazine hasn't rated it 5, yet Laughing

A lot of games on Metacritic have been rated 90+ over the past two years, but very few managed to retain it. I think GoW will end up somewhere around 85-90.
