I'll get it if people are up for clubs. Hopefully they actually improve it this year.

Hopefully, it's better than the awful Fifa 16, in which you couldn't even pass the ball. If you pass the ball it either gets intercepted or your players fails to control the ball properly. Laughing

Also hoping they bring back the OP over the top throughball from Fifa 15.

They were amazing. I remember when Tom and I, used to play co-op, and how we would abuse it. We would pass the ball between Ribery and Alaba, and then give it to Alonso who would switch it over a free Robben on the other wing.

Good times Proud

SET PIECE REWRITE

DIRECT FREE KICKS
Customize your run up on free kicks to create more variety in the spin and movement on the ball. You can now deliver worldies like outside of the foot direct free kicks that bend around the opposition

NEW CORNER KICKS
A new targeting system from corners lets you pick out teammates with greater precision and changes the way your teammates move as you deliver the pass. Switch to a player in the box and have your teammate pick you out for the perfect header.

NEW PENALTY KICKS
Move freely in your run up on the ball, approach from different angles and at different speeds, and put some personality on your penalties to take control from the spot

USER CONTROLLED THROW-INS
Walk the line to gain a better position on your throw. Fake your throw to keep your defender guessing. And throw it with pace to a teammate.

PHYSICAL PLAY OVERHAUL

PUSHBACK TECH
Pushback Tech innovates in trapping, dribbling, physics, and defending to create true-to-life battles for position and the ball. This is especially important when you want to control the ball and buy time for a teammate to make a run or get into a supporting position.

NEW PHYSICAL INTERACTIONS
Player interactions come to life in realistic detail across the entire pitch, like goalkeeper collisions, across-body tackles, 50/50 battles, jostling while ball is in the air and ball control while shielding.

360° SHIELD DRIBBLE
New proximity-based shielding will help you fend off opponents and keep possession. Defenders can be shielded out as you dribble in any direction.

ACTIVE INTELLIGENCE SYSTEM

CONSTANT SPATIAL ANALYSIS
Now every player analyzes the proximity of their opponents and the space around them to better identify opportunities in attack. When you are on the ball your teammates understand if you can make a pass and adjust their movement to show for you or make a new run.

NEW RUN TYPES
Smarter players and increased activity off the ball give you new and creative ways to open up the opposition. Orchestrated runs with multiple players, fake runs, stunt runs, and calling a player to show support are just a few ways you take control in the build up.

NEW ATTACKING TECHNIQUES

DRIVEN FINISH
A new shot mechanic lets players keep the ball low in any situation - finesse, volley, or when simply slotting it home.

THREADED THROUGH PASS
Curved. Precise. Into space. Create new scoring chances with a perfectly executed threaded through pass.

DRIVEN GOAL KICKS
Start a quick counter attack by passing it out from goal with power and direction.

DOWNWARDS HEADERS
Greater control in direction allows players to head the ball down and into the ground, making keepers work harder.

Extra physicality and more realistic movement into space are FIFA’s focus this year. That means players make support runs laterally and even across one another, and can hold off opponents when the ball is in the air – controlling Diego Costa, I was repeatedly able to keep Chris Smalling at arm’s length to bring down Branislav Ivanovic clearances, whereas last year that scenario would always result in an aerial challenge.
Set-pieces have also been reworked, with an aiming reticule provided for corners, and your player is now able to move up and down the touchline before taking a throw-in. Plus, we get managers for all 20 Premier League sides on the touchline – and yes, Jose Mourinho's already at Manchester United.

...

FIFA is attempting something far grander, and it’s called The Journey: a story mode where you play as a fictional youth prospect called Alex Hunter, following his career after signing for one of the 20 Premier League clubs (you choose which). In addition to controlling Hunter in matches, you also get to play out interactive cut-scenes where you choose what he says to the media, talk to team-mates in the dressing room and respond to orders from your coach on the touchline. It’s a huge risk that could backfire spectacularly, but you can see that EA's trying to move the genre forward. Maybe next year, instead of Hunter, it’ll be you lining up alongside Rooney and Co.

...

My favourite thing about FIFA is that it’s opened up: no longer do central defenders and defensive midfielders break on (and intercept) every pass the moment you reach the final third. Quickly tap L2 and you can even push them backwards, buying yourself space to play in an overlapping full back or breaking centre midfielder. Low drilled shots are also a welcome addition to the player's repertoire. It’s all a touch faster and more attacking, while retaining the ‘sim’ elements added in recent years.

Only buying it for user controlled throw ins (:

They need to SLOOOOW the game down WITHOUT raping the passing mechanic

Interceptions need to be toned down, if you actually watch slow mo replays on interceptions some/half of them are just ridiculous

Some lad winger with maybe 20 interceptions can literally stop my passing the ball forwards from BEHIND me by using wizard magic. You can't play a nice game of football because if you play around and play through the middle the shit passing and the lightning quick interceptions leaves you wide open.

And another thing, people need to stop getting back on their feet at 100mph

You can win the ball in a heavy slide tackle, crunch them on the follow through and 60% of the time they're up BEFORE you and have the ball.

It's been like that for half a decade, already. They're not gonna change it. It's not like they need to fix fundamental issues in the game, when they're giving us an on-rails, offline, story mode experience + better graphics to compensate for anything you can complain about Very Happy
