and for what reasons?


There have been quite a lot of good finals in the last 10-15 years.

My favourite one definitely is between Liverpool-Milan in 2005 and Madrid 2-1 Leverkusen. First one is self explanatory. Second one purely because of Zidane's winner.

Bayern 1-1 Chelsea is also in there but thats only because of the banter it provided.

Finals have been less of a spectacle than semi-final matchups in recent years imo.

From a neutral POV,thoroughly enjoyed many semi-final matchups over the yrs,not so much finals.

07 for obvious reasons, but 12 as well was amazing from a neutral perspective, even tho Chelsea PTB, it was emphatic from Drogba's header to him scoring the penalty

08 was alright as well, got a feeling if Drogba didnt get sent off, they might've got it

Bayern - BVB was a very entertaining match, with the obvious problem that most international spectators didn't give half a shit about who won.

Istanbul was the first CL final I've watched so that one stands out the most for me. Don't think there's been a better one since.

excluding real madrid finals, i'd say, in no particular order- the 93/94 final, 04/05 istanbul. but as S and zigra mentioned, they're usually not fantasy football matches, and i have never expected them to be such.

2002 and 2014 for obvious reasons.

But as a neutral I love watching the United win in 99 because of Schmeichel winning. I have seen that game so many times.

Also Valencia - Bayern penalty shootout was one of the earliest games I can remember.
