France has won both tournaments they've hosted... Euro 1984 and WC 1998... no reason to think they won't keep the trend going.

Well...  when's the last time England showed well in a tournament let alone contend to winning it?  I can't remember.

Talent is questionable now at best when it used to be really good... but that would be ok if the manager was really competent so he could scheme something that would fit the squad. But the managers are all incompetents too.

Yeah but Spain were always very talented and the club football did very well in Europe. For some reason, they couldn't translate that big game experience from clubs to the NT.... they choked. But that step was always a very small one. England needs to take a big giant step right now. There's a talent deficit and the clubs aren't very successful in Europe.

I like the kids though. Kane and Ali are good building blocks. Need quite a bit more to surround them. I think they're still 2-4 years away assuming they can develop some people.

Yeah England had talent back then... good technical players. Problem right now is depth of the talent pool. Need some more.

You can usually tell from the youth nt squads but i don't follow England youth teams so i don't know how that looks.

tbh we don't have any world class talent. and we have a poor manager so I'm not expecting anything from the England team this summer. we should get out of what is a poor group but after that its game over I think

2002 England was good. They just lost to Brazil like everyone else

I want to get behind Belgium, but I'm really unsure of Wilmots though at least included Nainggolan this time. On paper they are a top 3 team, but I don't think that will translate on the pitch. Especially with Kompany out.

Italy are having similar issues to England right now. Aging core players and not nearly enough fresh talent coming through from the youth NT setup and clubs.
