Thomas Muller Denunciation Thread
Don't want to ever hear again how he's undroppable and how he's this big game player despite the fact he chokes more often than not.

Big game player
Bayern only have ONE big game player and that is Robben. He would have ended the tie in the first leg.
He was awful today. Slow in tracking back. Clumsy on the ball.

What, I can't name four players? Okay, I'll narrow it down.
Müller.
I know Robben's looked game changing a couple times, and maybe is, but Bayern are so consistently worse when Müller's not playing that my mates and I are jokingly calling it a Bayern loss whenever he's not starting.
And I don't even get stick from Pep-lovers anymore when I call him incompetent when not fielding Müller.
That kid is pure gold.
Other than that though, Bayern got like 13 players who are incredibly close to each other in utterly sublime skill, that this isn't really a meaningful distinction.
Ironically by playing like trash Muller has done Viva proud ffs

Oh Pep, have you still not learned that you do not win anything without Müller?

rwo power wrote:Bayern will only be able to pull off a win if Thomas Müller starts. Müller is totally no bench player - you need to have him on the pitch from the very beginning as then he has the most opportunities to sneak in one or the other goal in his typically unorthodox way.Doc wrote:Anyway, still a 2nd leg to play so Bayern can pull off a win. Not that I personally think they would but we'll see...

This. As I said if there is any player that can make thugleti uncomfortable it is that annoying pos Muller. Against the team as compact as Atletico you want player that thrives in little spaces and movement inside box. You need some outside the box thinking to pierce through this comopact Atletico defence the form they are in.
VivaStPauli wrote:When has Müller ever been guilty of being noticably bad, in any match? Sure, he's sometimes not scored when his entire team sucks, but I really have never seen any evidence that he's not a big game player. And that was a big game.
Lord Awesome wrote:Muller is probably the smartest player Munich have, actually. As much as I dislike him I think Muller is the sort of guy who could outsmart Savic and Gimenez at some point. His presence in front of goal is statistically proven.
It looks like Pep isn't smart enough to figure that one out. And I hope he doesn't wise up for Atletico's sake.
windkick wrote:farfan wrote:I also never got the " Muller has to play no matter what " mantra that you hear from some people .
He's not CF , not winger, and definitely not a midfielder . He doesn't fit in many formations including the ones you need to implement against teams like Atletico .
Actually I think he's exactly the type of player you want to score against a team like Atletico. He can create something out of ugly plays, and Atletico makes things ugly for opponents in the box.

They could've had an extra man in midfield to defend better and get the ball forward rather than having that Flamingo running around like a headless chicken .
Hope this ends the " Muller must play at all costs " silliness once and for all .

Wait until next season with Carlo and that one game Muller shines and this thread would be bump. Till he faces opposition that can go toe-to-toe with Bayern and we realise he honestly is not that good.
Also, there is the Euros coming up so prepare for that as well...

He's so clumsy on the ball
Like Futbol once said, Muller gets praised for something that other players who are better than him at, get criticized for.

Without him, away, we played badly. With him yesterday, we played like the best team in the history of the sports.
But hey, he missed a penalty
Laughable thread.
Mole increasingly revealing himself to be a clueless, uninformed, kneejerking, yet pompous know-nothing

Re: Thomas Muller Denunciation Thread
You didnt play badly without him
You were all over Atleti in the first game too, just couldn't capitalize (Alaba's crossbar for instance)
Yesterday you had home advantage and teams usually play better at home because of the support I guess and because there's no need to travel long distances
So don't act like Muller instantly improved your game
He had a penalty and he executed it in a worse manner than way past his prime Torres
It'd be then 2-0 and perhaps the game would have went differently --> Mueller kicked BM out, in short.
Muller wasnt even involved in the goals. The first one was a deflected free kick () and the second a headed assist + a header from 5 meteres out ffs
Keep this up though, I love when German fellows hype Muller up to the heavens. It's always a good laugh.
Good thread btw.

Re: Thomas Muller Denunciation Thread
It's very simple. It is idiotic to drop Müller in a big game.
Because Müller is our top combined goalscorer and assister. With him, we're more dangerous. It's not rocket science.

Re: Thomas Muller Denunciation Thread
Not his best game, but he didn't really stink up the place either.
He made some mistakes - the penalty miss being crucial.
But his ability to manipulate space is so natural to him that he does it even when having a bad game. His presence helped Bayern up the pitch.
He could have done better, for sure.

Re: Thomas Muller Denunciation Thread
Is it inherently hard for a German to say Muller had a mediocre game because he kinda did. Not calling him a bad player (he is not) or overrated (more like over hyped), just this performance was not his best at all.
And yes, missing that PK added to what was a pretty bland and probably under par performance.
