Re: Ousmane Dembélé
As an outsider at least it seems that Barca have very little injuries besides Dembele over the years.

Re: Ousmane Dembélé
@DOC you are making the assumption that Dembele has not changed anything about his own behavior and his diligence and training and preparing himself has been the same.
I think it has not. I think you are looking at a situation where Dembele stopped training as hard as he used to because "he made it". living the life of a young millionaire with the fame of a club like barca went to his head and his discipline off the pitch went to shit.
Those stories that came out about barca having to literally assign a baby sitter to follow him and make sure he behaves are as damning as you will see.

Does anyone on here know if there was any legitimacy to the report of him having trashed Klopp’s apartment (that he was staying in while at Dortmund) before leaving for Barca?

I find it funny how you’re such a sad little *bleep* that you have to constantly talk shit in some way or another on just about every post I make. We’re all gonna make it brah except you tbh.
Muscular injuries can be migated by training habits but it’s been clear dembele has turned around his habits, at least partially. there is a huge genetic component. it is what it is.
No need to throw around insults.
This goes for both of you.

I’m pretty sure it was Klopp’s apartment. I believe I watched an interview of Klopp commenting on the report or rumor that his apartment was trashed when Dembele left. It was so long ago, though, the details are fuzzy.

Re: Ousmane Dembélé
This makes me appreciate Perez even more. For all the crap he gets from non madrid fans for being stubborn and buying expensive players, he is heads and shoulders above most if not all club presidents out there.
Imagine had Perez panic purchased Cucktinho and Dumbele to replace CR. We would have had a new president right now. Socios would have removed him without question. Instead the man plans carefully and doesn't cater to ridiculous demands and attitude from players.
I'm just glad I get to say my club is financially stable and performing well on all fronts while Barca is in the middle of a crisis.

With Dortmund, he suffered just one that kept him out for 10 days.
With Barça he has suffered so far 9 injuries:
1. Torn hamstring (Getafe vs Barcelona) – September 2017-January 2018
2. Torn muscle (Real Sociedad vs Barcelona) – January-February 2018
3. Ankle (Barcelona vs Real Sociedad) – May 2018
4. Ankle (Barcelona vs Leganes) – January-February 2019
5. Torn muscle (Barcelona vs Olympique Lyon) – March-April 2019
6. Hamstring (Celta vs Barcelona) – May-June 2019
7. Muscle (Athletic Bilbao vs Barcelona) – August-September 2019
8. Hamstring (Barcelona vs Borussia Dortmund) – November 2019-February 2020
9. Torn hamstring (training) – February-May 2020 (approximately)
Clearly there's something very, very wrong here, but whose fault is it? Is it Barça's medical team? Or is it Dembele's?
In my opinion, I think neither. If it were the fault of their medical team then Dembele shouldn't be the only case in the team, and unless I'm mistaken, Barça doesn't have another player with a similar injury record.
If it were solely his fault then why he wasn't this injury-prone at Dortmund or Rennes? I'm sure he was as wild as he is now, if not more back then.
Maybe the real reason for this seemingly endless stream of injuries is simply bad luck? We've all seen players who get injured for a very long time and repeatedly through no fault of their own (Umtiti, Thiago, Robben, Reus,...).
Maybe the kid is just going through a similar phase like that.
Are u sure about this virtually no injuries back at Dortmund? IIRC he was known to have injury issues prior to coming to Barca and it was a risk worth taking considering his talent, and it wasnt that bad back then obviously.

Hats off to Perez
He waited out the shitstorm, carefully calcuted everything and without panicking, got what he wanted
Instead of panic-signing two idiots. I think Hazard is a fat bum, dont get me wrong, but at least hes better than these two (Griezmann too probably) and fits your squad just right.

yes, I too applaud Perez for spending 100M on Jovic and that Brazilian numpty rather than the 300M Barca dropped on Coutinho and Dembele. Masterclass.

Jovic was only 60mil you delinquent and they'll recoup most of that
They're all still young and can develop.
Almost nothing compares to spending 140 mil on f-cking Coutinho and 125 on Dumbele whose medical bills are another 50mil on top of the fee.

Re: Ousmane Dembélé
I’m not going to lie, I envy Barca’s willingness to spend when spending is needed. Sometimes, gambling on players that might not live up to their potential is necessary. That said, I struggle to rationalize how their DoF or scouting department communicate with their coaches, yet somehow end up with players that don’t fit their tactical setups.
The ambition is there, and there aren’t many clubs that have the power and influence to act on those ambitions, but apart from Neymar and Suarez, their track record of signing the right players and for the right tactical systems, is abysmal.
Like Mystats points out, transfers that don’t work out should ideally, at least retain some of their value once there’s talk about shipping them out. Man United have had a similar issue with transfers since Ferguson left, but I think a lot of people conveniently dismiss the fact that David Gill left as well.
Similarly, Txiki Bgwhatstein left Barcelona for Man City around the same time. I believe these things matter, because both clubs have been mostly incompetent with their respective signings ever since, and the managers are always blamed for it. Meanwhile, City have some of the most talented players in Europe. I don’t know what Gill is doing, these days.

Jovic and Rodrygo are still young and have time to establish themselves
By the time Barca bought Coutinho and Dembele they were already established players in their respective teams, with one of them actually being labeled the best young French talent at the time
Terrible comparison imo, like comparing Ed Woodward to Señor Florentino Perez. Splashing almost 100 million on Martial to sit him on the bench let's not even get started on giving Trashford and best young english talent Lingard high salary contracts

His G+A/min in la liga isn't actually drastically different to his ratio in the Bundesliga
But of course it's a bit of a joke now with these injuries.

- Dear Mr. Hans,
In compliance with your request to only address you with full sentences ending with the honorific knighthood rank "Mr.", it is with a truly heavy heart and a soul-crushing regret that we inform you that you're grossly overrating the living crap out of Ousmane Dembélé, Mr. Hans.
Having said that, and after much deliberation with GL's higher-ups, I, the undersigned, do hereby promise you that the next time you try to overrate him (or that horrific, overrated dab merchant from United), you'll disappear from your home under mysterious circumstances, Mr. Hans.

Re: Ousmane Dembélé
I haven't overrated Dembélé at all. He's actually been great when he was able to play, for Barca, as he was for BVB.
Difference is that Barca instigated him to move ambush-style when he wasn't yet actually planning to, had him go on strike to make it happen, created a bad reputation for him in the process, created a bad environment of expectation, threw stupid money at the transfer because they got fucked over by Neymar, have an army of mean-spirited, entitled psychopath fans, who are just terrible people, and who are then let loose on a player leaving him no time to settle in, and then have quite obviously not taken care of him properly in terms of medical care and careful rehab as he keeps injuring himself right after he returns (with muscle injuries no less, not accidents).
Bottom line, Barca have ruined an exciting, entertaining, spectacular young player, of the sort there aren't actually many around.
You guys keep targeting me for telling it like it is, for some silly reasons, and I don't mind, but it's actually all of our loss as football fans, not just mine, yours too.
