'Grab the brass ring' or doing 'what's best for business' thing is just a lie imo. They aren't going to push someone unless your Vince or HHH's guy.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 25
TNA evicted from their hq.
"As noted yesterday, TNA is in the process of moving from their offices at Cummins Station in Nashville to the ShopTNA warehouse. The public story, as reported by PWInsider, was that the move had been planned for some time as part of cost cutting. The real story, as reported by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer radio, is that they are being evicted by building management and their only choice is to move into the warehouse. Dixie Carter’s Trifecta public relations company has been at Cummins stations for years before she got involved with TNA so this should give you an idea of just how bad TNA’s money troubles are. TNA has until the end of the month to move out. Keep in mind that they had recently moved out of the third-floor office into the basement at Cummins station where the TV equipment was.
TNA does have an investor that is willing to put money into the company but they want controlling interest and that’s not what Dixie Carter wants but she may not have a choice at this point. The idea was to negotiate it down so Dixie could maintain 51% and majority share of the company but it’s hard to see how she has any leverage if they want to continue. The company needs to raise money if they want to be able to pay for airfare for the next TV tapings in Orlando.
The hits kept on coming for TNA as they were informed yesterday that the Tuesday night replay would be dropped. A press release was sent to us by TNA on Monday night announcing the change. The purpose of the replay in the first place was to allow west coast viewers to watch the show at 9pm since Pop TV does not have a staggered feed. If you are on the west coast then you would need to watch the show at 6pm local time or watch the Saturday morning replay at 11:30am eastern/8:30am pacific. The movie “Ghost Writer” is taking the Impact replay timeslot tonight."

Who though? In the last 5 years other than Bryan, who only got his moment because Punk left, I can't think of anyone.
The logical thing is to push everyone who gets over. That's how it should work. Give the fans what they want. Yet here we have people being taken off the show/buried when they get over.

Ryback's last match was on superstars against.....Sandow.
Looks like it's going to be his permanent home after this interview.

LMFAO
Almost as good as this:
Still haven't been able to take HHH seriously as a GOAT after that.

I don't understand what's this "crazy over" definitely MT keeps using. He said Sandow was insanely over at some point.
Ryback was never over. He had a flavour of the month thing going but at no point he was ever going to past mid card
Sandow is a comic relief guy. Average wrestler. Has no charisma. Barrett was twice the guy he is.

I have stopped trying to argue that tbh, besides being over has never been enough. Everybody knows it.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 25
Sandow was one of the most popular guys in WWE from late 2014 until they took him off of TV after WM. Anybody who watched WWE regularly during that period will confirm.
Bryan was a comedy act with Kane, doing hugging segments etc when he got over. Doesn't mean he was a comedy act. Edge and Christian were comedy acts in the attitude era. Usually it's easy to tell the difference between a lifetime comedy guy like Santino and someone like Bryan/Sandow.
And Ryback was most certainly over and one of the most popular guys during his initial push. Putting the title on him made complete sense. It got to a point where the title needed him.

I agree being over isn't enough, but it should be. At the end of the day you give the fans what they want imo.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 25
what a waste of space this discussion has been. Sandaw is good enough to be on the show on a consistent basis, but at no point was the most over guy let alone earn a spot in the main event

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 25
When did Rollins and Reigns get over enough to earn a spot in the main event? Or AJ Styles who recently got a title shot? All 3 of them can walk into the main event scene despite lacking the required skills to be main eventers.
Ultimately it's nothing to do with talent or how over you are. It's who Vince/HHH want as the top guys.
In an ideal world none of those 3 would be main eventers.

And this is certainly one of the loudest pops on RAW. It's easily main event level.

Reigns: Poster boy, no need to discuss that
Rollins: After he turned on the shield he had he most heat anyone got in years, then he got even more heat when he cashed against lesnar. He got stale later on but that's because he was booked as the authority's bitch.
AJ Styles: 1- Did you hear the pop at the rumble 2- That's how you book an established star who main evented in every promotion he wrestled. 3- His push is useful to promote the network/NXT and convince more indie guys to join NXT and this more network subs.
What has Sandow done to earn a spot in the main event, except for getting some cheers while doing a comedy act?
ps: dont bring Bryan's comedy act into the discussion, there was a whole year between Hell No breaking up and him winning the title, a year where he was pulling one classic match after the other, and that's the main reason why the fans got behind him.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 25
Why is AJ Styles thing still being questioned anyway lol?
He's loved by the fans everywhere he goes, his merchandise sells out, he's an attraction which sells tickets ( there's been plenty of times where it's been reported that he has a positive impact on selling out house shows and RAW's )
Lastly and this is important, he's quite old so they obviously want to maximize as much potential as they can out of him.
Besides why are you acting like this is some sort of bad thing? It's about time they tried and pushed someone who the fans like and support financially instead of waiting years like with Bryan and Punk.
They should have been doing this years ago, they are in the position they are because they never pushed guys like AJ Styles and continued to rely on Nostalgia acts.

Rollins didn't get the most heat in years. It was generic heel heat at best.
Reigns was handpicked to be the top guy despite not being over or having the skillset to at the top.
AJ Styles - Ok, so one pop from a smark crowd warrants a main event push? Sure he might have been a big star elsewhere, but they were in companies that aren't on the level of WWE. He's not even significantly over currently. And the indy fanbase is a small minority. They aren't the mainstream fans.
Sandow on the other hand became one of the most popular guys in WWE. He's shown he's got the mic skills, charisma, acting ability and character work to be a top guy. He's a better entertainer than the likes of Reigns, Rollins and Styles.
