CL QF / Bayern Munich vs Benfica

I'm not sure what a Porto game from last season has to do with this but yeah sure, they probably are capable of doing this

Bayern also beat Porto 6-1. I still think Bayern will comfortably win the tie.

Lol I didnt watch the 1st half.
But heard he was good (from Redcafe, so only taking it with a pinch of salt).

2nd half though it was all Bayern predictably. His involvement was almost nada. His touch and passing were neat in his limited involvement. Hold up play is decent as well for a teenager. Appeared Unfazed by the occasion too.
As far as the negatives go, once again he looked a headless chicken always running in wrong direction. Off the ball movement was pretty ordinary so too was his positioning. But may be it was the class of the opposition telling today.
Either way the kid looked decent. But for the price quoted I dont think he is worth. If he was an attacking player then it would have been okay. But for a cm 40 mil is way too much money.

His pressing in the second half was outstanding, and he continued to move the ball at a fantastic tempo accurately when he got it. Always one and two touch, unless he had space where he could drive forward which was rare because of Bayern's pressing but he did it really well a few times. Perhaps most impressively considering his age is he looked like a leader, he was constantly berating team mates for going long too soon and encouraging everyone around him. He showed numerous qualities tonight, he really does look like the complete package

Okay. He was pressing, thats true. But as far as I can see Bayern players were playing around him comfortably despite that.
Complete package!
Anyway someone who watched the match (1st half) can shed light.

BTW as far as the match goes Very good work by Benfica. Hope they will keep it tight in the return leg and nick a goal from somewhere. Jonas will be a big miss.

Match was good. Benfica didnt fold over even despite the early goal. Lewandowski missed a huge chance towards the end in the 2nd half.
Overall it was a solid defensive display by Benfica.
Still tie very much in favor of Bayern though.

Benfica and Porto are the same level of quality. Hell in fact Benfica has been better than Porto the last 2 seasons given they have been winning the league in Portugal and also are topping it comfortably again this season.

I'm saying if Porto was able to beat Bayern 3-1 in Portugal at home, it's not far fetched to think Benfica could do it also.
