Nah there is a murmur everywhere about that.
He shouldn't extend either as he can do a lot better than us. When he sees a team who he probably never even heard of before joining PL win the title, he will question his beliefs.

Wouldn't expect to see anyone, much less Ozil, commit to a new contract while things are this unstable. Not sure if Wenger staying would be a positive for key players staying or whether he plays any part in their wanting to leave.
300% need Ibra.

Based on this one game I've seen him, Cornet is the guy we need to sign, not Dembele.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Roberto Martinez admits Everton would have to sell Romelu Lukaku if offered ridiculous money that could help them pad their squad in other areas.
Slight hope although he compared it to Ronaldo's Real Madrid move.

We should look at Mahmoud Dahoud. I'm a big fan signing players who bear by name.
In a totally unrelated suggestion we should sign Lebanese striker Mahmoud El Ali once his lifetime match-fixing ban ends.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/wenger-enamoured-with-striker-makes-efforts-to-buy-him-for-arsena
According to an Il Tempo report over the weekend, the Premier League club are very interested in Spezia’s 19-year-old striker Umar Sadiq, currently on loan at AS Roma.
The Nigerian striker, who has scored two goals for the Serie A club in the league this season, apparently caught the eye of Wenger in the UEFA Youth League, with Il Tempo going as far as saying the Arsenal manager is ‘enamoured’ with him.
The London club is said to have already made a €13m (£10.1m) offer for the player, which was rejected by Roma.
The Serie A club have a reported option to buy the player for €1.7m at the end of the loan, and if they are rejecting offers, it would seem they are prepared to do so.
The player’s agent recently told OwnGoalNigeria: “Yes, we have been approached by Arsenal, but they are not the only team that have show interest in Sadiq as Borussia Dortmund are also pushing for him.”

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
It occurs to me that, given the Premier League's TV money dominance, and given the topsy-turvy nature of this season, we might see some really bizarre and breathtaking transfer activity this summer.
1. Leicester, whether they win the title or not, will be operating at a much higher level in the market than they ever have.
2. Spurs have spent a lot of money over recent years, but if they win or finish 2nd they will have some additional allure and money to burn.
3. Man City with Pep, as we all know, will be making a few big signings--we just don't really know who, yet.
4. Man Utd, Liverpool, and Chelsea will be looking to invest to get back into the CL, but will also have to manage the players they have. Liverpool should probably be able to hang on to their stars, but will Chelsea be able to keep e.g. Costa and Hazard, or look to cash in?
Arsenal are really the only CL-spot competing club for whom this seems to be a "regular old season." The question is, as far as transfer activity goes, might this benefit the club, or hinder it? Wenger's opportunism might see plenty of great openings for good value ... or it may mean that the players he most wants will have even more attention.
... I wonder if teams like Stoke and Southampton and West Ham, with some really good players, will be cannibalized in the process. They benefited from some financial strength relative to Europe to accrue a team of maybe-not-quite-elite players in the market, but now with 6-7 top teams all vying to strengthen themselves, there may be increased competition for those Arnautovic-Mane-Payet types to fill out squads.
If Newcastle get relegated I imagine there are vultures waiting - the squad has too many good/promising players to deserve to go down like that, and I can see some of Sissoko, Wijnaldum, Ayoze, and others being swept up by top 7 clubs.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Wenger typically bullish on Zlatan transfer rumours:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35842214
"Look, at the moment, no," Wenger said when asked if he was interested in a deal with Ibrahimovic.
The Swede has also played for Barcelona, Juventus, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Ajax and Malmo in his 17-year career, winning league titles in four countries.
This season he has scored 31 goals as PSG clinched the Ligue 1 trophy with eight games to spare.
Arsenal are 11 points behind leaders Leicester and face Everton in the Premier League on Saturday at 12:45 GMT.
Wenger said: "We have other worries at the moment. It's short-term. We are not on Zlatan's case. Even at 34, he's had a great season at PSG."
He added: "I'm just surprised by the name you've thrown at me."

He's 'surprised' that the media would link us with a world class player who would be available for free, albeit for high wages and signing on fees... That is 'surprising'.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
According to Sport Witness Koura's out of contract in the summer and we could sign him on a free:
http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/arsenal-approach-french-striker-deal-could-be-done-quickly
We also had scouts at Marseille/Rennes last night, apparently to watch Batshuayi, but were likely distracted by Ousmane Dembele. Could also have been watching this guy called Abou Diaby who I hear is very talented if a little fragile.

Noice. Beating Stoke, Bournemouth, Sunderland and Newcastle to a free Ligue 2 player is always a sweet coup.

Olivier Giroud is reportedly being targeted by Juve http://skysports.tv/7WfkEq
It makes sense, Koura is coming to replace Giroud.
Whats funny, Wenger has time for Koura and not Ibrahimovic?
Ozil would be delighted with the news of Koura after all he cant bet any worse than Giroud.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
If we get a good offer for Giroud, I am all for cashing in - and I say this as someone who is by no means a hater. We've all seen how he can have stretches of terrific form and fulfill a vital function for the team.
But the Mirror report that Juventus would be able to get him for £20-25m, and even if that number and that whole report is ... if a European club makes a bid anywhere near that range, if I were in charge, I'd pat Giroud on the back, thank him sincerely for being a handsome, professional dude who worked hard for Arsenal, and send him on his way.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Xhaka, Isco, and a really good striker plz.
... I'm surprised we're not being linked, even crap media linked, to more RBs. With Debuchy probably moving on permanently, and Jenkinson still a question mark, that means we'll need someone to deputize for, or compete with, Bellerin. Chambers is maybe the one to play that role but you would think (or not) that Arsenal would then invest in another CB. Anyway I don't think many of us see Chambers as a long-term RB.
