Re: Zidane Sack Watch
Zidane is not about straight forward tactics... he's about implementing a philosophy. He's adamant about that. What Laurent Blanc has done at PSG is a good script for what's going to happen here.

Zidane certainly is a much more interesting appointment than Rafa ever was.

sports he can do that in the summer, right now the team needs to get on track, why not use the tactic from their beloved carlo? lets try to win something, the philosophies can wait tbh.

Re: Zidane Sack Watch
It doesn't really matter what i think may or may not happen obviously We'll see over the next month what he can do in the short term... only next season will we really get a glimpse of his vision.
You can't start a revolution stylistically midseason like this no matter how much you want to. It's not possible.
But you can make basic ones... he should just implement Carlo's tactics because the players are familiar with it. That shouldn't be difficult.

Next season Mourinho will manage you. Zidane is just an interim. My kebab dealer, who is much better than RG's kebab dealer, told me.

Re: Zidane Sack Watch
Seriously .... the Guardiolism destroyed the football.
After Pep era , eryone is looking for the new Guardiola, and no one finds it.
Even the 3 Italian giants fell into the trap , Juve with Ferrara , Inter with Stramaccioni , Milan with Inzaghi
All 3 had awful seasons because of them.
Now Real too , evidently they want to copy Valencia , that team who spent more than anyone in Europe this summer and after the sack of their manager for Gary Neville ( a rookie ) doesn't win a match.
The projects duly fail and only the ruins remain.

Re: Zidane Sack Watch
There's a difference though, Zidane is just an interim coach. You can't expect an elite manager to be available in January.
And in Inter's defense, Strama was too handsome.

Re: Zidane Sack Watch
PSG is doing pretty well using the model... It's about patience. Took Blanc a year to get everyone on the same page. Talent has to be there too obviously.
The guys who take an extreme approach are the ones who fail. The ones who take a philosophy and slowly implement + adapt it are the ones who succeed.
Besides, the model comes from the Netherlands, not Barcelona.

Blanc's first real managerial job was not PSG though, he was a proven manager long before that :/

Re: Zidane Sack Watch
1. Blanc wasn't PSG's first choice.
2. He had won the league with Bordeaux.
3. Coached the NT.
4. PSG is more patient and less ruthless than Madrid.
5. Blanc's run with PSG would be deemed a failure for Real Madrid. Winning L1 is not difficult let's be honest, so there's only the CL to draw conclusions from. And he still hasn't won it or even reached the semis.
In conclusion, even though Blanc isn't successful enough to be taken as a role model, he still has won enough to not be lumped in the same category with those Guardiola wannabes.

Re: Zidane Sack Watch
Even carried Bordeaux to CL quarter finals . Above Bayern ( that team will reach final against Inter in that year ) in that group. Surely me and Farfan remind well that GOAT CL
I remind to want him in place of Mourinho if he 'd ve left ( as it happened ) at that time
Well , he 'd not have made worse than Benitez.

If anything Zidane is the one taking a risk. No experience whatsoever before taking charge of Real madrid, the most difficult club to manage. Good luck to him.

Did well in his first two seasons at Bordeaux... but destroyed them his final season as he was already announced as the France NT coach. They totally went down the toilet. Was also pretty underwhelming with France although there were some pretty tough circumstances.
He couldn't get a job for a year and was interviewing everywhere. Only when PSG couldn't find a better alternative did they turn to Blanc. They didn't even plan on keeping him. The idea was to bring Leonardo back as the coach once his suspension ended. But Blanc performed too well for that plan to go forward.
Blanc never got his coaching license and never managed youth teams... he went directly to Bordeaux. Zidane paid his dues in comparison.

Re: Zidane Sack Watch
And Blanc does NOTHING in the daily and tactical preparation of PSG or any of his teams... that all falls to Jean Louis Gasset, his bench coach.
Blanc handles personnel management almost exclusively. He also has taken over a lot of the transfer activities for PSG. He makes the call in terms of who stays and leaves for the most part. The only times he doesn't get his way is if a player's contract is expiring... then the club makes decisions based on economics.

So , are you saying that Zidane just have to hire someone for tactical preparation ? I works for Blanc but is it going to work for Zidane ? Real madrid is not Bordeaux/PSG in terms of pressure, expectations, team management etc
