The real loser in this poll is Eto'o who was also a better player than Henry. Henry could only dream of Eto'o heroics in 3 CL winning campaigns and 2 CL finals.

I personally have only R9, Van Basten, and Gerd Muller above Suarez in the past 40 years in terms of strikers.

I wouldn't say he's clearly better than Henry or vise versa, but it's a matter of preference. I loved Henry in his prime but I prefer Suarez.

Notice 4:43 is an example, if Suarez was there instead of Higuain he would run forward with full speed and probably would score that deflection which Boateng cleared.
Then Higuain misses another two chances and thats it

And by the way futbol, Gerrard and Lampard played a full decade in the CL compared to Suarez who is 30 and this is his second CL season. Gerrard's performance against Milan 1 decade ago is better than anything Luisito has ever done tbh.

Some people really underrate Suarez. So what if its only Suarez's 2nd CL season (its not btw, he played in the CL with Ajax)? he has been performing in every team and league he has played in his career.

He scores like crazy for Ajax, Liverpool, Barca and Uruguay on top of his general game.

When has Suarez ever looked out of is depth? He plays next to everyone and shines. And when he played with "weaker" teams than Barca, he carries them (Liverpool, Ajax, Uruguay).

I don't like him at all but he is one of the best players in the world and not a level below Henry or Eto'o. This is actually a really good choice for comparison.

i'd still take henry first. but in suarez' defense, i recall people saying he'll not do well in a team where he isn't first option like he was at pool, and the man has proven that wrong based on the season he has had so far, and even last season too

Prime Henry I would take over CR though because he's a liability to his team no matter how many goals he scores. Suarez IS NOT that. So I won't take Henry over him.

Henry could NEVER even crack 40 goals in his career in one season. Only once did he ever go over 33 goals. Laughing

Eto'o shouldn't even be in this discussion. He's obviously the inferior of the three.

Suarez is a light years better than post-injury R9. But pre-injury R9 is undoubtedly better imo.

Like I said IMO only R9, Van Basten and Gerd Muller are above Suarez in the past 40-50 years in terms of Strikers.

Incredible words. His level of playing with Barca was insane and he was integral in every CL final he played. Big game player who Barca have to thank at least in part for CL success since 2000.

Immense striker and up there with Henry and Suarez certainly.

No chance in hell that Eto'o is out of the discussion. He actually played next to Henry and beasted. Few strikers are as decisive as Eto'o was. CFs in general are much worse now than they were in the 2000's. Which team today would prime Eto'o not get into?

3 CLs with 2 different teams being key in each one. Extremely clutch striker. Maybe Suarez is first I'd say, with Henry and Eto'o very close.

There are plenty of strikers that can join that group, Ibrahimovic for one that is even still playing. Last 40-50 years is a long time.
