Where's the graphic depicting other T6 managers protecting an under-fire Moyes/Brenden???

Re: Jose Mourinho Sack Watch
I really don't understand this pro-mou rambling that has come out from Neville and others. Mourinho is a toxic manager with negative and outdated tactics who they poured money all over and he is still pitching a fit.
Granted there are problems with the squad, but Mourinho was the one who fought for half of them, now he wants to throw them under the bus.
Surely Zidane would be an instant improvement on moral, player selection, and tactics. Plus, if you were a player, who would you rather play under, Mourinho or Zidane? Easy decision IMO.

Re: Jose Mourinho Sack Watch
Mou deserves no credit for these come backs, he just gables and throws on attackers going all out, and the other team always drops deeper and deeper and invites non stop chances, Man U was gonna win that game no matter who the manager was So Mou stays, good, more misery for them

Re: Jose Mourinho Sack Watch
United's next four games:
Everton (H), Bournemouth (A), Juventus (A), City (A)
You might not have long to wait. Everton and Bournemouth are winnable, but bad losses vs Juve and City will be hard to come back from for a coach who stakes his rep on not losing big games.

Re: Jose Mourinho Sack Watch
I feel your pain. His time at Madrid was a living hell, and the one major trophy he won for us wasn't worth all the controversies and toxicities he brought along with him.
United have definitely been way more patient with him than they should have. And for a club that has spent close to half a billion on transfers, you would think they would have slightly higher expectations for their manager than being tenth in the league.
This is his third season in Manchester, and he still hasn't built a team good enough to challenge for either the PL or CL. To me that's bad enough to warrant the sack.

Re: Jose Mourinho Sack Watch
Yeah, the team he's built with the time and money he's had is inexcusable. Too many defensively-minded signings while your Man Citys, Liverpools and even Arsenals have been building with an attack-first mentality and are looking better for it.

Mou is giving a beautiful press conference.
"We did our best. We knew since the draw that it would be a competition between us and Valencia to be second in this group. This is what we will try to do, to come second."

tbf he did set up the base for the success that came after him. The core of the team basically did not change in the post-Mou era until now.The Demon of Carthage wrote:I feel your pain. That's actually a common misconception. Carvajal came after him. Varane came through Zidane. Ramos was already there. Marcelo was already there. Kroos came after him. Case came after him. Benzema came before him. Bale came after him. Isco came after him. Navas came after him. Modric got benched by him and only rose to stardom after he left.
So really, the players who brought so much success to Madrid were either already there before he came or signed for the club after he had left.
He absolutely has nothing to take credit for.

Re: Jose Mourinho Sack Watch
United's approach to squad building has been sub-par since Ferguson retired. They haven't tried to build an identity at all, and instead just brought expensive "superstars" and expected their manager to build a functional team out of them.
That's how you end up with Lukaku up front but no wingers or playmakers to service him except a washed-up Sanchez and Mata. It's why you solve a problem like not having enough good passers in the team by spending £50m on a guy who's an average passer.
Not helped of course by having Mourinho as a manager, a man with a long history of rejecting creative players in favour of guys who run a lot.
Then United decided that Mourinho's targets weren't worth the money. At that point, it was surely time to get a new manager. If they wouldn't back him in the summer, why would they in January or next summer?

These are good points and you've made me reconsider. Still feel like Mou got Madrid to work as a well oiled machine which naturally helped the transition along (I'd argue that's why Zidane didn't need to be much more than a great motivator), but I'll agree that his influence was less than I thought.
