Re: Jose Mourinho Sack Watch
I dont think Man U will sack him during the season. They're not known to make impulsive decisions usually. If they underperform this year , they'll stick with Mou for the whole year regardless of the results and then replace him with a new coach in the summer like with Moyes.

De Gea is supposed to be better than Alisson.
You have Matic and signed Fred, so that negates the Fabinho signing.
Keita was signed last summer.
So I can only imagine he's jealous of the Shaqiri signing. I guess I would be, too, if the alternative was a past-it Sanchez on 400k per week while you've alienated Martial for good measure.

Re: Jose Mourinho Sack Watch
Good José post match interview
points out, rightly, that Utd were the better team until the goals occurred
Also says, somewhat redundantly, that "it is clear the team is United".
Yeah noone was doubting that

Does he have the same speech writer as Donald Trump?
I think Trump lasts longer at his position than Mourinho at his, for the record.

Re: Jose Mourinho Sack Watch
I kinda feel bad for Jose. His overall tactics until now might have been bad but he was thrown under the bus by his players today. Mourinho is getting all the heat but in reality his players are playing like heap of shits and they aren't any better either. Let me see which manager will do better than Mourinho with these players:
Scrubkaku who can't even score on an empty goal? shades of torres at chelsea
Phil *bleep* Jones as a CB in 2018? You can't make this up
Dabgba the youtube merchant who chooses to pass to John Cena instead of his team mates?
A farmer from Ukraine who looks like he's playing on hallucinogens?
Lindelofa?
A glorified bouncer from Cote d'Ivore?
45 y/o Valencia?
If Scrubkaku scored an early game sitter vs Brighton and open net vs Spurs ,United would've parked the bus and won both games and would be on 9 points now. I actually liked how United played in the 1st half today, the players were just wasteful.

Re: Jose Mourinho Sack Watch
@Firenze Do you think sacking Mourinho will magically turn things around for United? If I was a Utd fan I would be calling for sacking of Woodward first and then see what happens. If a manager asks for a CB and a club as rich as United says no, then this is what you get, you can't play with those bouncers in defence and expect good results IMO. I don't get your board, they should have either backed Mourinho in the transfer window or fired him straight away.

2? Pep has one who is the other manager with PL title. Honestly struggling here, Mou said the rest of the league managers have 2 titles compared to his 3.

Re: Jose Mourinho Sack Watch
Woodward isn't the problem- well he could be the problem if they don't hire a DoF. Hiring a DoF would allow Woodward to go back to the financial side (I doubt Utd. fans would complain about that). The problem is that Mourinho's tactics are outdated, half the players he brings in (that United have obliged) have been crap (Lindelof, Sanchez bad, Matic good, Lukaku not sure if he was a Mourinho signing but questionable), and Mourinho won't work with a DoF when he clearly needs the help.
Mourinho has basically been given everything he desired from RM on, and he has left a bad taste in each of the club's mouths since RM.

Re: Jose Mourinho Sack Watch
sacking Woodward is unrealistic even if it was warranted. I don't think sacking Mourinho will magically turn things around completely, no, but it is clear that he's lost the dressing room and once that happens it's better to cut ties earlier rather than later. Mourinho signed those shit CB's that are playing terrible (Lindelof and Bailly) in the first place, so that's on him. For 70m combined too.
All I know is, despite how average a lot of the players are, we also have some very good ones that are under-performing dramatically. That's unprofessional and they should play to the best of their ability regardless of who the manager is but eh, this is football, no place for a sense of right and wrong, even if Mou was entirely faultless (and he certainly isn't) I'd still want him gone just because he lost the dressing room so clearly, there's only one way this can possibly end.

Re: Jose Mourinho Sack Watch
United's problem is more than just Woodward and Jose.
Their entire structure since Fergie left has been poor, they've had no direction or philosophy and currently have a miss-match of players. Look at how Spurs have built in the same time-frame, and how effective they have been over the last few seasons. City and Chelsea are also good examples of how to run a club when you have a lot of money.
United could have reconised that a few seasons would be tough once Fergie left, but if they'd planned and built properly, they could have won the title by now. And, if I were their board, I'd aim to start doing that, otherwise they're going to continue to fall.
