Klopp has proved himself enough to be worthy of being given time.
Neville has proven nothing to suggest that he's not completely out of his depth.
Try again though.

Re: Gary Neville the new Valencia head coach...
If anyone needs a proper pre-season and could use the lack of one as a reasonable excuse for shit results , it's the newbie manager ,not the supposedly world class one who comes with higher expectations .

He's been touted as potential head management material for quite awhile and his name has been linked with various vacant jobs for just as long, but I think he'd have been wiser to make his gambit into management, as it were, with a lower league English side (which make up the majority of said positions he's been linked to thus far) and make his bones there before thinking about taking on a club higher up the table looking to compete in, and qualify for, Europe. Going to a side the size of Valencia with the kind of expectations they necessarily will have, with zero reputation and zero record to fall back on should his tenure underwhelm, and especially on so short a contract, is a risky move on his part.
Yep. Whole thing's been a nightmare and a trainwreck for him. Not only has he considerably damaged his stock as far as future managerial opportunities/offers go, he's also surely done his credibility no favours regarding the likely prospect of him returning to Sky once he's finally put out of his misery. He's not going to look so intelligent and authoritative when handing out lectures to managers on tactics and methodology anymore after he bombed so spectacularly when he had a swing at it himself. I always liked him as a pundit but taking on a job this big was always presumptuous and arrogant on his part and he'll deserve everything that's come to him and that remains to in the future until he's given the bullet.

Hahaha, great banter CBarca and Shed.
I agree with Farfan and Extremist, if we agree that Klopp should be given time, so should Neville. His Valencia is in the same situation in the league table as when he got there. So is Liverpool's Klopp. He has suffered a very humiliating defeat on the hands of the best team. Klopp has suffered some humiliating defeats, but he hasn't faced teams of Barça's quality.
What you've done in the past at other clubs, can't be an excuse or a credit at your new club IMO.

Re: Gary Neville the new Valencia head coach...
its tough to put neville and klopp in the same boat. when liverpool got klopp, the expectation was, he'd amass as many points as he can, and then he'll have the summer to make suggestions on who he wants and what players fit the system he wants to operate. neville isn't in the same position, and valencia don't necessarily have the clout or appeal. neville hasn't delved into the market or free agency to build a squad, so he may be out of his depth in that area.
liverpool are also going by the mindset of "we saw him build dortmund up from scratch when wolfsburg and later on bayern were dominating" also, guys like lewandowski, sahin, gotze et al progressed under klopp. so liverpool organization must be thinking "hey at least if we can't spend big, he can unearth some talent"...neville doesn't have that kind of background for valencia to draw on. building a team and coaching them is a whole different game from being an ex-player and an analyst...by the way, i'm not saying valencia should or should not fire him. just highlighting why the two coaching scenarios are different

Valencia lost like a bottom-of-the-table fodder (read: ~14 teams in Liga, but not Valencia).. So embarrassing, I dont think Neville will last until the end of season.

Re: Gary Neville the new Valencia head coach...
The coaching scenario is definitely different, but my point is the prejudice new coaches get.
There have been countless occasions where even successful managers have succeeded at some clubs and failed at some.
Who knows, maybe Neville envisions a certain playing style that would require time. (The hilarity of this statement is real though)
What if Pep had taken reigns over midways into the season at Barcelona?
Of course, I don't give two shits about what Neville does, but just putting it out there that I find this reasoning for such "unfair" comparison between Klopp and Neville as generally flawed.
Conclusion: IMO appointing anyone as a manager is a risk unless he has had success with multiple (2+) clubs before.

Chances are if you've spent any time on social media this morning you would have seen this quote, apparently made by the Valencia manager during his time as a pundit with Sky Sports.
It's widespread, it's hilarious. Unfortunately it's also completely made up.
