Wow no one has made a thread yet... guess we are all feeling down and depressed about El Clasiso.

My guess is that Rafacht will play a different formation for this match, but if I were to choose I'd play this lineup

Navas
Carvajal Varane Ramos Marcelo
Modric Casemiro Isco
James Ronaldo Bale

Rest Benzema to clear his head from all of his problems, and Toni just to see how we play without him.
Also I'd like to see Jese in front of Bale but let's be realistic here

Prediction a boring match with us getting a lucky win

Ramos wont play for along time due to delaying surgery on his shoulder. I have a feeling Lucas will start. Rafa rates him (too) highly. Also have a feeling James will be on the bench

No James (thar interview is going to haunt him for as long as we play well without him), Benz (needs to sort out his off the pitch drama) and Danilo (common Nacho, play great so that i dont have to witness this dude in a RM jersey ever again). Kroos and Navas have been rested

Take out Bale and put in Benz and this is an excellent line up

Think its going to be a 442 with isco and kova on the wings. But that midfield doe Shocked if only we couldve played it against barca

yup.

Kroos is great to watch. he is calm and passes neatly. but so far this season he hasn't really contributed.

as you said would have liked to have seen casemiro in for him with modric alongside.

hopefully kovacic and isco do well. should be total control of the midfield.

As usual get a goal then play ultradefensive. Kovacic has been excellent. Bale and Ronaldo should work on being able to keep a ball. They are instant turnover machines

Varane injured which means Nacho will probably play CB for a long time. I dont mind he is a very good defender with great attitude

The mentality of the forward players clearly doesn't flow with the rest of the team. Great goal and nice midfield link up leading upto the goal.

Yup great and smart build up between Modric and Isco. Would like to see James come on for Bale but Lucas was warming up so he will probably enter early in the second half

Cant believe this game went from Shaktar not having a single chance to 4-3. Something is really wrong with this team mentally.

Bale did very well tracking back. Him and Ronaldo played very well. And Everything went downhill when he was substituted with Benzema.

Nacho is terrible as a centre back

he is decent as a left back though.

Anyone see Danilo pointing at Nacho for Shaktar's second goal Laughing what a crap defender

Also Kroos needs to sit out a couple of games out. As much as i love him he has contributed to our bad defensive record as much as our attackers. Benzema too hasnt looked good. I thought Lucas wouldve been the logical substitution but hey. With every game Rafa puts in an attacker instead of workhorses there is less and less chance he will do it later on in the season because they arent doing anything to justify them being included

Not happy with how we finished the game but that was just a small part of the game when the guys provqbly thought everything was done. Our midfield was excellent, always finding someone even under pressure and the defence bar Danilo were excellent too especially our 2 cbs

I especially loved it when we were 4-3 up and Casemiro hastily passed the ball to Peoe despite there being a Shaktar player near him, instead of hoofing it, he calmed the whole team down by holding onto the ball and passing it neatly to Isco. Our absolute best defender. If he was Spanish he would be undisputed and earning as much as the galacticos and he would be deserved of every penny

Probably, along with the Varane, our two best buys in the last 5 years. We bought them for peanuts and they're playing like gods, especially Casemiro.

The problem wasn't Benzema being subbed it, the problem was that Bale was pushing Shakhtar players back and apart, we needed a winger to push them even more. Also this is like the 128317231872th time we try to defend and lose the control, we should stop doing that, attack, keep possession. So Benzema getting in wasn't wrong, Bale subbed off was what started the problem I guess.

Yes Rock, but Benzema came in for Bale, that was a poor decision. And he didn't do anything really when he came on, nothing.

Also, going ultra-defensive to protect the lead? God I absolutely hate that! We conceded three goals when we did it. Attack dammit and keep attacking until the final whistle. This Mourinho-esque approach is boring and makes my skin crawl.
