AC Milan vs Atalanta
Predicted Formation
AC Milan (4-3-3)
Atalanta (4-3-3)
Remember what happened the last time we were picking up so steam? We lost 2-0 to Genoa. I hope we don't pull of a classic Milan like that again. The red hot Allegri is suspended and the ever improving Bertolacci is out injured so that's obviously a big blow. Mexes will of course start because he scored last match. I can't help but think we won't come out with a win even though Atalanta are scrubs. Something like De Sciglio/Mexes screw up and Honda and Cerci scrubbing it up in attack. Hope I'm wrong though but I don't think winning will be easy at all.
Prediction Milan 1-1 Atalanta (Bacca, Pinilla)
AC Milan (4-3-3)
Donarumma
De Sciglio Romagnoli Mexes Antonelli
Kucka Montolivo De Jong
Honda Bacca Cerci

Nah, i doubt we'll make it 4 wins out 4, its classic Milan.
btw, Niang is expected to start ahead of Honda

That's good news. I'm sorry to say this but Honda is simply offering nothing in attack. Good on Sinisa to try out Niang.

I want to be optimistic but the rational side of me won't let me.
If we win this though I'll be over the moon, first time in years I'll actually have hope in this team.

Explanation as to why De Jong is starting? Have we not seen it fail enough times to know he can't perform unless he is played in the screening role?

Re: AC Milan vs Atalanta
Donnarumma can take a bow (or two)
The rest of the f*cking team needs to take a long hard at itself, getting owned by Atalanta in the 2nd half as if we were against Pepcelona. Thought i was watching Inzaghi's Milan ffs
Just hope Juve don't wipe the floor with us

Well what did I tell you? Put 3 past Lazio but can't score against Atalanta. Classic.

Re: AC Milan vs Atalanta
Missed the second half (which is apparently good from the sounds of it), but I was really impressed with Niang. If we're gonna stick with the 4-3-3 I'd like to either see him keep his spot on the left or try it out on the right.
Our general play was more of the same tbh, midfield ineffective and front three creating all the chances themselves. We just weren't as lucky with finishing as in the last few games.

Re: AC Milan vs Atalanta
I think we played "well" in the first half, then imploded in the second.
Throughout, Cerci was back to his scrubbing best.
Niang showed plenty of promise, should be ahead of Honda in this formation.
I am yet to be convinced by the 4-3-3, and I think Sinsia should try out the 4-3-1-2 again, at least when Balo is back.
Donnarumma is practically making sure DL is not getting his spot back.
Our midfield is poor, and cannot control a game to save their lives, which is why we need the 4-3-1-2.
Mexes wasn't too bad. Our FBs are inviting too much attacks against us, and our midfield is not equipped to help without De Jong.

Re: AC Milan vs Atalanta
This was expected TBH. And it goes to show how important Jack (and recently Bertolacci) are to the team. Without them, the midfield was a disaster and towards the end we could not string two passes to save our lives, and Atalanta were completely dominating possession.
Cerci was really bad. The whole midfield was non-existent. Montolivo was pretty terrible as well IMO.
Overall, it was not the work performance ever, and we did not deserve any more than the one point we got (thanks to Donnarumma).
Jack and Bertolacci will hopefully be back for the next game. And I'm excited to see more of Niang. He was very impressive and considering that this was his first real game in a while, I'm looking forward to seeing more.
