Yeah... so Valbuena makes a sex tape and it leaks. Benz, who is obviously really short on cash, puts his life and career on the line to participate in a blackmail scheme to get 150k from Valbuena. Makes sense.

Only reason Benz went in is probably Valbuena, who is friends with him (they went on vacation as a group with Gomis in summer 2013) asked him for advice... so now that the matter is handed to the police, he needs to tell them about his conversations with Valbuena about this.

That's how it works in France. It's not an arrest. Anyone and everyone in the periphery gets questioned so maybe the police find something... not against the person being questioned mind you, but he/she may have heard something that will help them.

From what i read benzema is involved in this because the people blackmailing are some ghetto tough guys who are linked with another ghetto tough guy, close to benzema's brother in lyon.

Benzema knew about the sextape, and he told valbuena to pay to get rid of those guys, so obviously his name got thrown under thr bus when valbuena squeeled to the cops

Benz is a straight up gangster, so I'd think that's why people believed it. The guy has charisma on instagram that hasn't been rivaled by a gangster since Michael Corleone in Godfather 2.
