Re: Klopp’s First Date
Dont think Skrtel is the same guy who could cut it in a 4 man back four.
Also really hope we can win this one regardless of how we play as it would instill fear into the opponents considering most of them are already fidgety that we have Klopp.

Re: Klopp’s First Date
Ffs Sturridge just can't stay fit. I don't think Origi can deliver. Here's hoping it Cou and Lallana who get us a couple of goals.
Intriguing to see what formation it'll be.

Re: Klopp’s First Date
Origi should have scored after his header hit the bar. We started well but it trailed off as the half went on and it was more even.
I like that Coutinho and Lallana are taking less touches. Origi's movement isn't that good which makes it hard to do anything when we break. Ings and Sturridge would have been really useful this game.
Skrtel backing off the ball a few times and gifting them chances.
Mignolet did well saving those chances.
Milner needs to do much better.

Re: Klopp’s First Date
The problem is that Origi isn't good enough for Coutinho and Lallana to feed him and our full-backs & wider midfielders aren't getting up quickly enough to give a chance to attack from out wide. We're kinda banging our heads against a wall in the center.
But nevermind that, I'm already liking this Liverpool way better than Brendan's.

Re: Klopp’s First Date
The first 20 minutes were our best. Played well in the last 15, too.
Coutinho and Lallana had too much to do on their own. Origi wasn't exactly bad, but couldn't really help the guys playing behind him. Our attacking play lacked fluency, but it was hard to find other answers with this personnel. I'm happy with the point, with the attitude & work rate of the players and the fact we played a sensible-looking formation. I also thought Skrtel and Sakho both showed the kind of steel we are going to need from our CBs in Klopp's high-pressing, take chances approach.

Re: Klopp’s First Date
I think it was a decent performance and point against the most in-form team of PL. I loved some of our pressing moves, shame our final pass was bad, it was like bees group-attacking swarming the player.
Mignolet and Sakho were FLAWLESS. Sakho
Can was also very good, same with Lallana and Lucas and Clyne.
3 home games in a row now for Jurgen to win and build some momentum before heading to SBridge

Re: Klopp’s First Date
massive massive performance by Sakho, Mig and Lucas
other players were also good and there was movement in the final third, but it was clear that players were not on the same wavelength !

Re: Klopp’s First Date
I don't think Skrtel was very good tbh. Thought he was beat quite a few times too easily.
Other than that it was a good game. Still not really clicking offensively but I feel had Benteke or Sturridge been fit it may have looked a bit different. That's even just with less than a week of full training under Klopp, and against a team that was in good form. Don't underestimate Tottenham they've been giving very tough games to the top teams...they should have beaten United away, they crushed City at home and gave Arsenal a good game as well. So to make them look as uncomfortable as they were with the injuries we had was pretty impressive I thought.
On to the next. Hopefully some fitness issues can go away and we can start banging in some goals.

Re: Klopp’s First Date
I was kind of hoping Ibe and Sinclair got more game time against spurs, only criticism of the game, other then that, considering our situation is was a decent result.
FML the neglect Sahko got from BR, were lucky it didn't drive him out.
