LMFAO he does that a lot.
Yea Ocelot was a bit meaningless most of the times. Specially disappointed since he was voiced by Troy Baker and thought he'd have a much bigger role.

Now that you have played it.
You can actually call the chopper elsewhere and completely avoid the skulls (although you might have to destroy the anti air-radar iirc)
but you can sneak the first time as well with the right timing.
In 10 missions you can sneak in and out with no problem.

Also side ops can be quite repetitive. Specially when you want to complete the game asap. So do few of them but make sure you do the one which are highlighted in yellow as they are the important ones and linked to the story

Nah trying to stealth for most part, although I need to get better as I haven't played many in years and AI are annoyingly smart

So I finished like 15 main story missions and a hell lot more Side Ops and gotta say this game is absolutely nothing like previous MGS games. Gameplay is 10/10 though. I love how the enemies are now adapting to my methods.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Part II
Yea it's very different to previous MGS games. That's why 30% of mgs fans hate this game and consider it to be the worst in the series
This game has truly divided the fanbase. If 4th didn't.
Yea the enemies adapting was a great surprise. They actually talk about it too if you listen in the convos. Something like " A lot of soldiers been getting hit in the head lately, so they ordered us helmets to combat that"

Yep, there's so much attention to detail, even when hearing soldiers talk to each other you should pay attention, they could let slip something.
Also, listen to the casette tapes M69, it's a huge dump of story material

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Part II
I've listened to every single one of those cassette tapes. I know of their importance from my Peace Walker experience. But I don't appreciate cutscenes being eliminated by so much. Interactive cutscenes in Peace Walker were amazing, they should have tried to implement that.
On the story, there is something I suspected from the start. Pre-release it was a popular theory among fans (along with Chico = Quiet). None of you pos confirm or deny anything.

- Spoiler:
- When visiting Paz and having the flashback, again it focused on a certain someone shielding Big Boss from the explosion. I replayed Ground Zeroes and noticed it there too.
The Boss's AI when rescuing Huey "You're not Snake"
In the chopper there is an old MSF picture of Snake, Kaz, the pilot and another person whose face is hidden because the photo is folded.
Got a feeling that person (the medic who got the bomb out of Paz) is Punished "Venom" Snake and Big Boss was Ishmael. The game will probably end with Big Boss and Ocelot killing of Venom to solidify Big Boss's descent to the dark side and protect the secret.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Part II
gameplay is very, very, VERY good. But the missions felt like filler 90% of the time, not enough focus and story content, there are about 10 missions that are actually story relevant at most. I also gave up on Spec Ops besides the ones that would benefit me the most 1/2 through the game. Did about half all in all.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Part II
Cut scenes increase towards the end but still not as good as they were in MGS4. Missed that as well in this one.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Part II
like 95% of the missions are stuff you would expect to see in a 'create your own lvl' editor mode, so little effort put into the narrative
that's why i can't give this game more than a 7.5/8 overall
gameplay some of the best around though

It actually makes sense now why they were fillers.
But yea, and we have talked about this before too. Game would have benefited with 2 more Acts and a 6 months delay release.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Part II
I am loving both main missions and side ops so far. They make the game hard to turn off like Skyrim/Fallout usually does.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Part II
I had some very high expectations after the prologue,
- Spoiler:
- chapter 1 was great- the skulls, meeting eli, and salanthrapus. Skull face was interesting, wished they elaborated on him more. Then chapter 2 seemed like it was a filler just to get to the twist at the end. Was hoping that there would be a chapter 3, but i gave up now, 74% completion rate so far.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Part II
This game is such a strain on my tiny, limited brain
I have to rest everytime I complete a mission lmao, although in the latest mission I see what Firenze was on about tbh.
Felt like a random hit rather than anything tied to the main story.
