INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE Empty INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE

Post by Lucifer Fri Oct 02, 2015 6:47 pm

Isl the football league starts in India after enormous popularity of first season. Many including me were skeptical about success of football in India but amount of popularity it has garnered is very astonishing as well as exciting. Different clubs have created their huge fanbase and very ardent ones mind you. So there is always fighting between different club supporters on social media. In terms of attendance last year ISL became 4th biggest league. Now I know India is huge and duration of season is short but still to achieve this feet in first season is very good. Regarding the quality of football I know it was not so good as compare to European or South American but common its just infant stage and I am quite certain the quality will only improve in near future because believe it or not Indians are crazy about football as others. Wishing football very warm welcome and very best wishes. Common India lets football.
From now I will be updating about ISL on this thread...

We deserved it last season. Atletico de kolkata winning it over Kerala was like chelsea winning CL against Bayern in the final. We completely out played them but lost on a set piece goal in the last minute. This time i hope we gets that trophy.

You had a disallowed goal but we kind of had something gone against us too, dont remember. Razz

We simply switched off after winning 3-0 in the first leg. Chennai at that point had nothing to lose in the second leg and attacked courageously.

This tym though I would lyk to watch young Indian players to take center stage. Teams need to find young talent no one wants to watch washed up foreign players. Northeast united has good young players. Also Chhetri will play this season. Really looking forward for young Indian talent to perform.

Whaaa?
Average attendance I guess? Otherwise impossible. Though you indians have a habit of crowding places to the max, so everything is possible. Laughing
I don't understand this indian tradition of making very short sport competition as the cricket league... it's obvious that a sport competition should last most part of a year...

They are thinking about merging this league and the national league though.
One thing though, this has turned into a very successful product.
If only there was better infrastructure (like cricket) with new proper football stadiums , the ratings would be off the charts.
One thing I'm skeptical about is would international players accept playing a whole season as opposed to playing for 3 months and earning big money in quick time.
Football season is a marathon so the sponsorers would be thinking one thing and that is if it could maintain and sustain popularity for a whole yr.There isn't the same footballing culture as Europe or other Asian footballing nations so it would be hard.
