Bayern lost to Porto also. And If I'm not mistaken when United beat Porto in Portugal I believe in 08-07 or 08-09 it was the first time a English team won in Portugal.

I wouldn't really call it pathetic. They have been hit by injuries and player movement and are not the same team that qualified for this tournament.

Is that an excuse, not really as Sevilla can cause any team problems as seen by City wining in the last minute when they played them before today.

At the end of the day was it possible for Sevilla to advance from this group, yes and I thought they could pull it off especially if they had held City to a draw. After that result the wind kind of went out of there sail as seen by a much worse performance today at home no less which is usually a very difficult place to get a result.

On pure performance this year Sevilla has struggled in league and in Europe. I don't really know if that answers your question but it was always somewhat of a leap of faith for them to oust teams with so much more firepower.

Could they do it yes, are they going to do it, no. Would I want the team i route for going to Sevilla on a euro night, not at all.

it's really hard to expect great signings when we didn't sell our best players to bankroll the transfers .
it doesn't help that said best players are either injured or under performing big time . :facepalm:

Interesting, for EPL and La Liga, only one club of theirs isn't in a position to qualify which is Sevilla and Arsenal. Even more interesting, for Bundesliga, only one club is actually in a position to qualify which is Bayern. Wolfsburg is tied on pts with PSV but the latter scored more goals so they are 3rd.
