I never want to see the Russian guy and Lucas play again. Jese on the bench and those scrubs playing :facepalm:

anyway, bar Carvajal, Varane and Isco everyone was awful

Hard fought 3 points. Credit to Granada for that battle but wasn't surprised after I found out from the commentator that most of the players in that team were from Elche who we had trouble with last season

Kovacic is bloody amazing, he oozes confidence and Casemiro lolz, comes in and the first thing he does is win a ball back. Those two have bright futures ahead of them. Thought Cherychev was better than Lucas when he came on but I am glad Rafa kept Lucas in, the last thing he needs is to be subbed in one of the only games he'll play

From the pics it looks like a 5 vs 5 ,what initiated such a situation?

iirc Marcelo lost the ball trying to fanny around with it in our own half and they countered

Marcelo's positioning is going to cost us big this year... he was nowhere to be seen on defense.

Marcelo has these kinds of performances every season, they happen but he usually bounces back quickly. He plays pike this midweek and he can feck right off

not really correcting the comments re Marcelo, BUT he did save a goal from a cross that got in behind Navas.

Re Lucas and Denis, do you realize that Jese has not taken advantage of his opportunities thus far. These guys are not scrubs but are bench players. They all have played well in la liga. Be thankful we have a coach that will use them, which is necessary to integrate them into team and give them some confidence. The season is very long, we aren't going to win every game by 5 goals. We need these bench players to get thru the season. If you view them as scrubs, you might as well go back to "play only 12" Carlo which results in a burnt out team come February.
