Bordeaux vs. Liverpool
As (some) fans will embark on a 870-mile journey; they could be up for some real mediocrity as Bordeaux, 10th in L1, host Liverpool, 9th in EPL. For me, it's time to throw caution to the wind. Try something really innovative.

I wanted Moreno as he can expected to provide width on that side. May be Teixeira should replace Lucas/Milner since Coutinho will return.Art Morte wrote:Mignolet

I thought Can would improve fast but seems like he will need more time to improve his decision making, good thing is, he still has 1-2 years !

I don't judge any of our players under Rodgers anymore.
He plays literally half of the team out of position....Many of the players we've sold have had their worst professional career season under BR.

Re: Bordeaux vs. Liverpool
It is funny how most of the attacking players that join us do worse under Rodgers than they did at their previous club... Markovic, did worse, Lallana, doing worse, Lambert, did worse, Balotelli, did worse, Firmino, doing worse, even the likes of Borini and Aspas - seriously restricted players - seem to do even worse than before under Rodgers. Unless you're capable of individua moments of brilliance, like Suarez, Sturridge, Coutinho and Benteke, you're set to under-perform under Rodgers

Re: Bordeaux vs. Liverpool
Apparently we are taking a bunch of academy/young players (except Teixeira) to Bordeaux. OK then, I still haven't got the full list of players for Bordeaux; but Clyne, Skrtel, Lovren, Lucas, Milner and Benteke left at home. Lallana has made the journey. So what sort of team we might expect??? This seems most probable:
What is Rodgers decides to reintroduce 3421???

Re: Bordeaux vs. Liverpool
Yeah, apparently Christian Benteke, Martin Skrtel, Dejan Lovren, James Milner, Lucas Leiva and Nathaniel Clyne have stayed on Merseyside.
I'm not sure how to feel about that. Yeah, I'd rather win the Norwich game than this one, but I'd also much rather rest the players in the last two EL group stage games if we've secured progression by then.

I think it's absolutely ridiculous that this early in the season you'd need to rest a whole bulk of key players in your FIRST EL game for a fixture like *bleep* NORWICH.
If your youngsters win in Bordeaux, very well. If they don't, it's an absolute embarrassment.
A club like Liverpool should have, and has, squad enough to field a strong team in every fixture.
Why rest several players? Rest some against Bordeaux and some against Norwich.
Norwich ffs.
Lost for words tbh.

Re: Bordeaux vs. Liverpool
His job is under pressure the fraud. He's gonna prioritize to save his own ass. But like you said we should be beating both Bordeaux and Norwich without resting anyone regardless specially since the season just started.

Re: Bordeaux vs. Liverpool
Even in a normal circumstances, there would have been rotation. Frankly, I see barely 1-2 senior players who could have been in the squad. It's not that we are sending some rookies altogether:Hapless_Hans wrote:Art Morte wrote:Yeah, apparently Christian Benteke, Martin Skrtel, Dejan Lovren, James Milner, Lucas Leiva and Nathaniel Clyne have stayed on Merseyside.

Mignolet: Regular (probably be the captain too)
Joe: Started all five games so far
Toure: Veteran (kept for this sort of games)
Sakho:
Rossiter: Now that's one
Emre: Club regular and made debut for NT
Coutinho:
Origi: Played regularly in L1 and NT
Ibe: Playes pretty frequently for Liverpool
Ings: EPL regular
If this team isn't good enough, then it's on the players (and managerial tactics). No way it's downgrading EL.

Re: Bordeaux vs. Liverpool
It never mattered how bad we did, i was always excited for every game. This season, I am not having the same feeling at all. Lets see if I can motivate myself to watch this one today!

Re: Bordeaux vs. Liverpool
It's funny because our "reserve" defense gives me a lot more confidence than our so called "First team" defense.
Remember when the reserve team played vs. Madrid in Bernabeu and actually gave a respectable outing, for ALL of them to be dropped for the following league game and then we lost that ?
o, the memories
