Yeah Messi is just any good player with a high IQ’s.
There only one player in Messi’a caliber in history ffs
Messi doesn't have the highest football IQ of all time, if he did he would be the ideal coach
Players like Zidane had more football IQ than him. I just said anyone with football IQ will outplay Thibu, and it's true. Any coach with proper sense like Allegri will instruct their players to abuse Thibu
Messi has a very high football IQ and he’d be a great coach had he not been lacking other qualities that are necessary for the job namely good leadership skills etc. Also how can you say Zidane has a higher IQ? Did you measure that somehow?

I never said Messi doesn't have a high football IQ, but I disagree he has a coaching future. It's been pretty much a joke on GL that Messi is a player coach but he literally has taken any team he "coaches" (which seems to be Argentina mostly where he has most control over matters as shown by Jorge Sampaoli asking him if he should sub in Aguero or not) anywhere.
Meanwhile Zidane has carried Real Madrid to 3 consecuative CLs. No matter what you're going to say about him you can't deny that he knows tactics, but it wasn't the most pretty football. He still tried hard to defend our weaknesses and his subs against Juve (subbed in Vazquez to protect the wings from further crossing balls to Madzukic) shows he is competent in the tactics area. That's not the only one but it was an example, so you get what I'm trying to convey

Re: Thibuuuu: welcome to Madrid
yeah, unreal shambles
sign some numpty named Kepa for 80m
35m for a B+ GK with 1 year left isnt too bad tbh
but to then announce that Kovacic is coming for a season long loan in their official twitter statement that Thibu is leaving like it's some kind of huge coup
my sides
developing him for Madrid ffs

Re: Thibuuuu: welcome to Madrid
Chelsea statement
We have tonight agreed terms with Real Madrid for the transfer of Thibaut Courtois, subject to the agreement of personal terms and a medical. As part of the deal, Mateo Kovacic will join Chelsea on a season-long loan.
Acting like we doing them a favour when the only reason Kova went there was for playing time

For sure, Messis IQ in scoring is insane. He knows exactly when to chip it or nutmeg it or just shoot it.
But does he know anything about defending? I don't think so.

Doubt Kovacic gets much playtime there as well
Can see Chelsea act petty for the sake of it after having already taken the L with Courtois

Does he know anything about defending?
I’m dead here. This is a farce.
I’m beginning to see what turned Harmonica crazy. Having to listen to this idiotic rambling.
Messi has an other worldly football mind. Stop acting like he’s just good in that department. It’s embarrassing. He’s dominated once time and time again without scoring because he knows so much about defensive movements and know just how every pass should be made

Re: Thibuuuu: welcome to Madrid
Zidane was never a scorer... only big goals in big games... so I don't see the comparison.
It's like saying Messi doesn't control the midfield as well as Zidane. Well of course he doesn't!!!!
To get back on topic... strikers don't make the best managers typically. Why? There's nothing in front of them other than the goal. They don't get a chance to observe much when they play. Central defenders and keepers typically make the best managers... DMs too. They get to see the most of the play in front of them.
That said, being a manager is 2/3 psychology imo and 1/3 tactics. So if you have the personality to motivate people, it's best skill that you can have at any coaching level. Doesn't mean tactics aren't critical either... but that can be learned. Being a leader is something you're born with.

Unreal lack of faith on Brexit lads Loftus Cheek, Drinkwater and Ross Barkley.

I very much have doubts that this loan move will turn out to be a 'success' regardless of whether its got to do anything with his long term future.

Will this transfer open the floodgates and bring me my long-awaited striker or will we shut up shop now and play Asensio as false nine for the rest of the season?

Re: Thibuuuu: welcome to Madrid
Flo did promise "more great signings" during Odriozola's presentation, but I'm not expecting anything at this point in time. Courtois is by no means an awful acquisition, but It's not as if we we've been suffering with Navas between the sticks. I'm just a bit puzzled about the likely scenario of our one, big, incoming transfer in this window being a goalkeeper. You'd think that position was at the bottom of our list of priorities.

we do the deals that are available, the stars we want for the attack are not available, so we wait.
if Hazard like Courtois had skipped training, i genuinely wonder if CHelsea would have sat down to talk about a transfer.

Hazard would never have done that. He's just not that kinda player. Plus he's not naturally a c**t like the long nosed bellend.
Also, one key fact to take not of is that unlike Courtois whose wife and kids have been settled in Madrid this whole time, Hazard's wife and kids have been settled in London and his wife has been said to actually love London and prefers to stay. So there's no family sentiment pulling him that way.
All Hazard has asked for is that the club show some ambition in the transfer market. Even though we've left it late, I think we've done a fairly decent job of that so far. Just need to get a RW and/or CF of high quality now.
Hazard to Madrid isn't happening. He'll sign a new deal before December. Not even sure Madrid are keen on him anymore and word coming from his camp is that he's more likely to stay now.

Re: Thibuuuu: welcome to Madrid
Also, if Modric stays at Madrid and Kovacic has a good season at Chelsea, he's staying at Chelsea. You can come back to this post in a year's time.
Even though English journos are saying there's an option to by, I'll go with the story from Madrid media that there's no option.
Still, I think you've lost Kovacic for good. Which shouldn't matter to you lot anyway. You've had an unprecedented 5 year run. A few dry spells over the next few years shouldn't bother you much.

Re: Thibuuuu: welcome to Madrid
Well, we usually put it in the official communication if there's an option to buy. It was in the James news, but not in the Kovacic news.
Can't see why he wouldn't return under any circumstances? We've done this a lot of times before, either with loans or buy backs, when the clubs didn't want to settle for a loan, which Chelsea somehow accepted.

There is no option to buy but what he says is true because if Kovacic is playing in chelsea every week and Sarri trusts him he will have no reason to come back to Madrid if he is not also promised to start.
