heard there was a rainbow beta a while back and ppl said it was complete shit

shame because I reemmber rainbow 6 vegas on 360 back in the day being GOAT with friends

Did you play ranked matches? You just need to know what to do. You'll get fked if you try to play it like a CoD game Laughing

You need to actually think before you approach the building where the bomb is, or the bomb itself. There are several ways to get in - you can enter by blowing up a wall, or if you know where the bomb is, you can rappel down the wall next to the bomb room and attempt to take out the defenders from behind Proud

Rainbow Six is significantly more slow paced than CoD or Battlefront, but that's an argument a lot of people use to degrade those two games. I've had tons of fun playing Rainbow Six, so far. We need to make a GL team Molenation

The beta for Rainbow Six Siege started 2 days ago. It's been getting mostly very positive feedback on the internet. I've never really been a fan of the Rainbow Six games. The last one I had was on Nintendo 64, if I remember correctly Razz

There's been multiple versions of alpha and beta for it Thimmy, this is the first open Beta.

People have been playing it at different stages for months.

there was a closed beta couple of months ago, it got negative feedback but I can't remember why, but if it's getting positive feedback now maybe it was just broken rather than having bad gameplay hmm

I don't remember much about the gameplay for the series but I watched some video clips and it seemed very..CODish compared to tactical FPS hmm

I don't really see how it's similar to CoD at all. Friendly fire is allowed in R6S, so having a bunch of CoD kids play it would just cause chaos Razz

Tactics definitely plays a huge part in the game, and good players don't move around a lot. I experienced a lot of frustrating technical issues on the day when the beta went live. I was struggling to get into games, my character would randomly freeze into the ground, and the game would sometimes crash. I didn't experience any of that yesterday, though. Needless to say, if you don't like tactical shooters, you're not going to like Rainbow Six. You can get away with running and gunning against low-ranked players, but higher ranked ones really know how to use their specific spec ops units and knowledge of the maps to their advantage. In order to perform optimally in S&D, you need to have a specific set of spec ops units. For instance, I played against a team yesterday that had 1 person jamming our electronic devices, one blowing up walls and blockades from a distance, one guarding the bomb behind a Riot Shield and a sentry gun, and two other people rigging windows and entrances with explosives and electric steel wire traps. Each round of S&D alternates between an attacking phase and a defensive phase. You have to plan accordingly.

Also why can't you jump at all? rofl

Will def not buy this but don't mind playing it with you later when i'm done with gym.

The recoil was mad disgusting, no jumping, friendly fire with no penalty? :wat:

I was a bit frustrated by not being able to jump, as well Razz

I assume, since they want the game to be relatively realistic, they don't want people jumping around like they do in CoD. The effective range of the guns actually matters, so if you pick an SMG that is effective in close quarters, you'll barely have any recoil in close quarter gun fights. If I remember correctly, SAS has an SMG that has very little recoil, but a short effective range.

CoD Killstreaks just lying around on the ground for anyone to pick up. Infinite grenades. Shallowest skill curve I've ever seen.

Please tell me console players at least have voice chat via their paid internet service. PC version doesn't even have pings or communication shortcuts. Only communication is text chat.

General Games Discussion - Page 38 200_s

To be fair, though.. the game can be really fun. It's gorgeous to look at, it has an interesting theme, awesome atmosphere, it's fast paced and super easy to do well in. I personally just thought it felt casual, bland and repetitive after a few days of playing it.
