Re: Space Exploration & Discoveries
I'd say the temperature on Pluto doesn't really allow for waves on water. ^^ (Although the discovery that these structure are surprisingly young might mean that there is some sort of cryovolcanism or similar to allow for the recent creation of such formations).

Re: Space Exploration & Discoveries
I think it is better to post images in image-tage anyway as then you won't accidentally post huge pictures by just giving a link.

Good news. Can't wait for 30million years until we populate it.

Re: Space Exploration & Discoveries
Except that would be impossible since the sun there is older and has already, likely, evaporated all the water on the planet. It's basically what Earth will be in 1 billion years or so, supposedly.

Re: Space Exploration & Discoveries
Once they solve the theory of quantum gravity, they can harness wormhole technology to reach Kepler. Only to find that what we observed using optics is Kepler of 1400 years ago since its 1400 lightyears away. Primitive civilization has just been established there, rudimentary stuff such as irrigation and whatnot. Little did we know that the voyage there was funded by corporations, their main objective is to eradicate all life and gather the planet's resources. 80% of life there has been annihilated (without our knowledge) with a few surviving here and there in caves and such, they scratch drawings on cave walls to depict what is happening to them. Once they are all eradicated, they gather the resources and leave. Only for 5 renegade member of the mission to escape and restart life there. Due to some malfunction (or sabotage?) in the wormhole tech, they return to earth when the neanderthals were still roaming. Most of them commit suicide others try to make them submissive and teach them, eventually they humans die and peace is returned to old Earth. The 5 at Kepler continue living and reproducing (Using sperm cell donor canisters) to advance life there.

Glad someone pointed this out.
Clearly this image is catered towards pop science fans as whilst one can learn from the image itself it just does not make sense from a cosmological point of view.
